Explosive Power & HIIT Training
Build raw athletic power and boost your metabolism with high-intensity training designed to push your limits.
The sledgehammer and tyre workout is a full-body routine for building raw strength and power. It strengthens everything from your grip to your core and is one of the toughest, most effective workouts you can do.
This is a demonstration of a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout using only bodyweight. Combining exercises like plank variations and crunches in quick succession burns a lot of calories and improves your metabolic rate for hours.
A glimpse into one of my circuit training sessions. We use a Tabata-style format with 8 different workout stations to create a fast-paced, full-body workout that improves both strength and cardiovascular endurance.
Competing in the Wild Warriors National OCR Championship. This obstacle required carrying a heavy sandbag, a test of pure strength and endurance that my training directly prepares you for.
Flipping a heavy tractor tyre during an obstacle course race. This movement requires total-body strength, from your legs and back to your chest and arms, and is a staple in my power training programs.
The tyre flip is a classic functional strength exercise. It builds explosive power throughout the entire body and is an excellent way to improve your conditioning and burn calories.
A look at a CrossFit-style circuit in my gym. We combine different exercises like kettlebell swings and medicine ball throws to create a high-intensity workout that builds strength and endurance.
About this collection
This isn't just cardio. It’s about building the raw, functional strength you need for daily life and athletic performance. When we use sledgehammers or tractor tyres, we aren't just training muscles; we are improving coordination, grip strength, and explosive power that transfers directly to the track or the field. If you’re bored of repetitive treadmill sessions, this high-intensity approach provides a physical challenge that standard gym setups simply can't match.
Real Strength, Real Results
High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) at Athletes Revolution is designed to break plateaus. We move away from isolation exercises and focus on compound movements that recruit the entire body. Whether you are prepping for an Obstacle Course Race or just want to get lean, these sessions hit the mark.
Why This Style Works
- Functional Conditioning: We use earthmover tyres, battle ropes, and sledgehammers. These tools teach you to handle awkward loads, which is essential for both sports and real-world situations.
- Metabolic Impact: The Tabata and circuit-based protocols we follow at our Kammanahalli gym keep your heart rate elevated, ensuring you burn calories long after you leave the floor.
- Biomechanics Focus: As a sprinter, I pay close attention to your form. We don’t just sweat; we correct your movement patterns to prevent injury and increase output.
Where We Train
While our base is the Athletes Revolution Fitness Center in Kammanahalli—equipped with high-density rubber mats for barefoot work—we also take our conditioning outdoors. For high-performance clients, we often transition to the Kanteerava Stadium to apply these power concepts to track work.
This training is for anyone who is done with excuses. It is raw, it is challenging, and it is built on the belief that real victory comes from preparing for the impossible. Come ready to move, because we don't just lift; we build.
Shantha Murthy
I’m Shantha Murthy. I’ve spent my life on the track, and I built Athletes Revolution to show you that real strength is about more than just gym mirror gains. My training is about developing the functional power you need to win, whether that’s in a race or in life. If you want a coach who pushes you to break your own barriers, you’re in the right place.
