Traditional Hatha Yoga: Correct Form & Alignment
Yoga is not about showing off. See how we focus on safe, traditional Hatha Yoga in Arekere, ensuring every student moves with correct alignment for real results.
Chakrasana, or Wheel Pose, is an advanced backbend that dramatically increases spinal flexibility and strengthens the entire back. We build up to this pose safely and step by step.
A student performs Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand) without any support, demonstrating great core and shoulder strength.
An amazing backbend by a student in Ustrasana (Camel Pose). This pose opens the entire front of the body, improves posture, and builds strength in the back.
A student holds Vrikshasana (Tree Pose), a wonderful asana for improving balance, focus, and strengthening the leg muscles.
A student demonstrates Trikonasana (Triangle Pose). This foundational pose is excellent for stretching the sides of the body, hamstrings, and opening the hips.
A student performs Ardha Matsyendrasana, a seated spinal twist. This pose is excellent for improving spinal mobility and aiding digestion.
A beautifully executed seated twist, demonstrating great flexibility in the spine and hips. Twisting poses are essential for maintaining a healthy back.
About this collection
You will notice props like wooden blocks and straps in many of these photos. We use them not because a pose is too hard, but to help you find the correct alignment for your specific body type. Whether it is a deep backbend or a simple stretch, I make sure you perform it without strain, protecting your joints while building long-term strength.
Many people ask me why we don't focus on fast, high-intensity movements. The truth is simple: if you practice without the right technique, you aren't doing yoga, you are just risking an injury. My approach at Sanatan Yoga Studio is to go back to the roots of traditional Hatha Yoga.
Why Correct Alignment Matters
When you see these photos, notice how my students are supported. We prioritize spine health, joint safety, and controlled breathing over aesthetic perfection.
- For Back & Neck Pain: Many students come to me with chronic pain from sitting for long hours. We use specific asanas to decompress the spine and build core stability, which is the only real way to find relief.
- For Hormonal Health: We use gentle, therapeutic sequences to help with PCOD, PCOS, and thyroid issues. These are not 'quick fixes.' These are lifestyle changes that require patience and consistency.
- Prop-Assisted Learning: Using a strap or a block isn't a sign of weakness. It is a tool for intelligence. It allows you to feel the stretch in the right muscle group rather than compensating with your lower back or knees.
Yoga is a journey of healing. If you are tired of generic classes that leave you feeling more drained than energized, come visit our studio in Arekere. We don't believe in shortcuts, but I promise that if you put in the hard work, the results will follow.
