The class works on the Bow Pose, a powerful posture for opening the entire front of the body. With regular practice, students build the strength and flexibility needed for this deep backbend.
Here we are in Purvottanasana, or Upward Plank Pose. This asana is fantastic for strengthening the arms, wrists, and legs while providing a wonderful stretch for the chest and shoulders.
About Our Studio Classes
In our studio, we strip away the distractions to focus on what matters. My classes prioritize manual hands-on adjustments and deep breathwork over complex, fast-paced flows, ensuring you learn exactly how each asana feels in your body. We practice in an open, naturally ventilated hall, so bring a water bottle, an open mind, and a willingness to simply show up.
My teaching style comes straight from my training in Mysore, focusing on traditional Hatha techniques. This means we hold postures to build endurance, strength, and correct alignment, rather than racing through flows.
Why Our Studio Sessions Work
- Real Alignment: I provide manual, hands-on adjustments. You won't just guess if you are doing a pose correctly; I will guide you into the shape that is safe and effective for your specific body.
- Breath as the Anchor: Every session weaves in Pranayama and breath control. This is the foundation of calming the mind and managing stress, not just the physical exercise.
- Traditional Environment: We practice in a naturally ventilated hall with polished granite flooring. We do not use AC, which helps your body regulate its own temperature and allows you to sweat out toxins naturally as you work through the sequence.
- Tools for Growth: We use props like wall ropes, foam blocks, and cotton straps to make advanced asanas accessible. Whether you are working toward a headstand or simply trying to touch your toes, we have the tools to help you get there.
Yoga is Abhyaasa (regular practice). It is not about how flexible you are when you walk through the door, but how dedicated you are to showing up on the mat. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your technique, there is a place for you in our community.
