Don't let back pain or stiffness hold you back. At Sanatan Yoga Studio, we use traditional Hatha Yoga and the right props to help you move freely again. See how we guide real students through safe, therapeutic stretches.

The Cat-Cow stretch (Marjariasana-Bitilasana) is an excellent and gentle way to improve spinal flexibility and relieve back pain. I guide students through the correct synchronized movement with breath.

This gentle supine twist is a wonderful asana for the lumbar spine. It helps to relieve lower back pain and can be beneficial for those with slip disc issues when done carefully.

Back pain can be worse than a breakup. If you are dealing with lumbar pain, sciatica, or other spinal issues, I can guide you through therapeutic yoga to find relief.

This student's journey from stiffness to flexibility is inspiring. This forward bend shows how consistency is the only key to unlocking your body's potential.

A student demonstrates Trikonasana (Triangle Pose). This foundational pose is excellent for stretching the sides of the body, hamstrings, and opening the hips, which helps in relieving back stiffness.

Chakrasana, or Wheel Pose, is an advanced backbend that dramatically increases spinal flexibility and strengthens the entire back. We build up to this pose safely and step by step.

An amazing backbend by a student in Ustrasana (Camel Pose). This pose opens the entire front of the body, improves posture, and builds strength in the back.

About this collection

Many people try complicated poses from videos and end up hurting themselves. In my studio, we don't just stretch; we use wooden blocks and straps to make sure your spine stays aligned and safe. Whether you are dealing with chronic lower back pain or just feeling stiff, I will be there to personally adjust your posture, ensuring you feel the release in the right muscles without any strain.

Why Traditional Hatha Yoga Works for Pain

I often see students who have tried 'fancy' yoga routines on YouTube, only to find their back pain gets worse. The problem isn't yoga; it is the technique. When you force your body into a pose without understanding your current flexibility, you aren't healing; you are risking injury.

In my studio, we go back to the roots. We use traditional Hatha Yoga to create space in the spine. Whether you are dealing with a slip disc, sciatica, or just general stiffness from a sedentary job, the focus is always on therapeutic alignment.

How We Work

  • Prop-Assisted Movement: We use blocks, straps, and bolsters for every student. This allows you to hold a pose for longer to get the therapeutic benefit, even if your hamstrings are tight or your back is weak.
  • Progressive Flexibility: You won't be doing advanced backbends on day one. We start with gentle flows like Marjariasana (Cat-Cow) to lubricate the spine, moving slowly toward deeper mobility only when your body is ready.
  • Personalised Adjustments: I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. In every group class, I move around the room to ensure your alignment is correct. If a pose causes pain rather than relief, we modify it immediately.

What You Can Expect

Consistent practice brings results. I have seen students go from struggling to touch their knees to comfortably practicing Trikonasana with support. Healing takes time, but by focusing on correct form and deep breathing, we help you manage pain, strengthen your core, and regain the freedom to move without discomfort.
