Our Story: Bringing Naga Flavours to Mumbai

We grew from a tiny home kitchen in Andheri to the space we are today. Our journey is about community, heritage, and sharing the food we love.

A quiet corner of our restaurant, featuring the hand-drawn map of Nagaland on a blackboard wall. This map is a tribute to our roots and a conversation starter for many of our guests.

A blessed moment with our pastor and family at our old location. We started in a tiny outlet, and it was the warmth and support from all of you that allowed us to grow.

Grateful for the incredible women who are the backbone of Naga Belly. Their hard work and dedication keep everything running smoothly and ensure every meal we serve is a delight.

About this collection

Our restaurant is not about fancy decor or polished plating. It is built on the same warmth we found in our kitchens back in Dimapur. Whether you see the hand-drawn map of Nagaland on our wall or catch the aroma of firewood smoke, we want you to feel like you are stepping into our home, not just another eatery.

Naga Belly started in 2020 during the lockdown in our own kitchen in Andheri. It was just us, trying to recreate the comfort of our grandmother’s cooking. We did not expect the response we got from Mumbai, but you all showed up, squeezed into our tiny original outlet, and made us feel at home.

This space is not just a place to serve food. We kept it simple. The map of Nagaland on the wall is a piece of our home we wanted to share, and the Longpi pottery we use for drinks tells a story of our heritage. Our team, especially the incredible women who keep our kitchen running, is the backbone of everything we do here.

When you come by, you will likely see us bustling around or chatting with guests. We believe that good food is about community. Whether you are coming for our Smoked Pork or to try a traditional rice drink, we want you to leave feeling like you have been fed by friends.

We are Aren and Juliet, childhood friends from Dimapur who built Naga Belly in our home kitchen. We kept our current space simple and warm, focusing on the food and the company rather than fancy decor.
