A masterplan proposal that integrates sports, leisure, and landscape into a cohesive, living campus set against Pune's rolling hills.

This masterplan rendering illustrates the overall vision for the MCA campus, connecting various buildings with landscaped pathways and green spaces to create a holistic environment for sport and community.

An axonometric drawing of the Accommodation Block, showing its linear form, undulating green balconies, and its relationship to the adjacent cricket stadium.

The grand arrival lobby of the Accommodation Block, featuring circular skylights and a view into a lush internal courtyard. The design creates a calm and light-filled entry point for guests.

A conceptual detail of the undulating green balconies. This element is designed to give each room a private terrace while creating a visually striking, living facade.

A rendering of a hotel room in the Accommodation Block. The room opens onto a spacious, shaded balcony, extending the living space outwards and offering views of the campus.

The design for the gym and swimming pool area, which is fronted by a natural bio-pond. This integration of leisure facilities with natural water bodies is a key part of the biophilic design.

An aerial view of the Sports Block, a multi-level facility designed for movement and recovery. The building includes indoor courts, a gym, and rooftop yoga spaces.

A view of the Sports Block from the cricket practice grounds. The building is designed to be a backdrop for the athletic activity, with large openings and viewing terraces.

The Sports Block features a cantilevered terrace that provides a shaded viewing deck overlooking the tennis courts and cricket field, creating an ideal space for spectators.

About MCA International Clubhouse: A Vision for Sport & Leisure

What sets this masterplan apart is not just the sports facilities, but how we treated the gaps between them. We designed the pathways, bio-ponds, and courtyards to be the actual hubs for community interaction. If you are developing a campus or institutional space, the quality of these transitions is what defines the user experience and long term sustainability.

Architecture is rarely about a single building. When we approached the MCA International Clubhouse proposal, we saw a site that needed to breathe. Our masterplan moves away from the standard, rigid institutional layout to create a campus that functions like a living organism.

The Three Core Zones

  • The Accommodation Block: We oriented two linear towers to capture views of the Western Ghats. By using undulating balconies, we created private, shaded terraces that keep guests connected to the outdoor environment without compromising comfort.
  • The Sports Block: This facility is designed for movement and recovery. Through the use of strategic cantilevers, we introduced passive cooling and shaded viewing decks, ensuring the building remains functional even during the hottest parts of the day.
  • The Museum Block: Central to the campus, this area is planned around a courtyard. This creates a flexible, modular grid that allows the space to evolve—hosting everything from small community exhibits to open air cinemas.

Designing for Connection

We relied on biophilic principles to ensure the landscape isn't just an afterthought. Bio ponds and native flowering paths serve as the connective tissue between buildings. These are not merely decorative elements; they act as thermal regulators and social magnets. By placing community spaces near pedestrian paths and zoning active zones for efficient circulation, we created a campus where sports and contemplation exist in balance.

Architecture for us is about creating a dialogue between the built form and the natural landscape. We do not just plan buildings; we create environments where people and nature naturally intersect, just as we envisioned for the MCA Clubhouse.
