About Mixed Martial Arts
My Take on MMA: No Shortcuts, Just Real Work
I’m Jagapathi Babu. Mechanical engineering is my background, but honestly, I live and breathe martial arts. For me, there’s only one way to get better—show up, put in the effort, and don’t look for shortcuts. I’m still competing, so I know every drill and sweat matters. If you’re expecting magic tricks or easy hacks, sorry boss, avvalothan (that’s it).
What Training With Me Looks Like
- We train to be complete fighters—striking, grappling, and conditioning, all covered.
- Kickboxing for MMA and boxing form the base. You’ll pick up solid punches, kicks, combos, and defensive moves. We hit pads, bags, and spar—nothing fancy, just what works.
- Grappling is big here. We dive into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu basics, wrestling takedowns, controlling on the ground, and submissions. You’ll drill, spar (roll), and figure out what actually works for you.
- Expect MMA conditioning drills—weights, bodyweight stuff, circuits, sometimes a bit of CrossFit. Your stamina and strength will not be left behind.
Who Can Join?
- Total beginners, parents with kids, women, and anyone wanting self-defense through MMA are welcome.
- If you want to compete, I run a fight team and invite-only weekend sessions. We push hard, gold medal prep style.
How We Train
- Group classes for that team vibe and motivation. Personal training if you want targeted progress.
- No drama, just training. Avvalothan.

My Story
Hey, we’re Sai MMA Academy, but most folks know our coach as Babu. Started out with machines, ended up on the mats. Training’s our life – discipline, sweat, and a bit of family temple travel mixed in. Golds in grappling and kickboxing, always chasing that next belt. Our gym’s got heart, not just muscle. Pooja with the parents, festivals, all of it matters. For us, training, faith, and family go together. That’s how we roll.
