About Your Journey Starts Here: Beginner Classes
Most beginners approach yoga looking for a workout, but in my class, we start by fixing your skeletal alignment. If your posture is off, your energy spills and leads to unnecessary fatigue or injury. We use specific props like wooden bricks, belts, and bolsters to support your body, allowing you to learn the mechanics of each asana safely while building real, long-term strength.
Why We Do Not 'Flow'
Many beginner classes encourage rapid movement, which often leads to poor form and injury. My approach is different. I dissect every movement. You will learn standing poses, twists, and forward bends, but only after your body understands the correct engagement. We use heavy-duty props—not as crutches, but as essential tools for precision. They help you hold a pose longer so your muscles can learn the correct position without straining your joints.
The Hybrid Learning Model
Whether you are joining me at my studio in Mandi House or practicing via Zoom, the standards remain identical. My hybrid model is designed for accountability. You cannot hide in the back of the room; I provide real-time corrections to ensure your alignment is exact. This is a rigorous, disciplined space where we focus on training the body to function efficiently.
Your Path Forward
Beginners often start with a 'no pain, no gain' mindset that I dismantle immediately. You will find that when the body is correctly aligned, the mind follows. By the end of this introductory month, you will not just know the poses; you will understand how to breathe and hold your posture, preparing you for the more complex work—like inversions and pranayama—that we tackle in intermediate batches.
