Unlocking Emotional Blockages through Iyengar Yoga
Your body keeps the score. When you hold stress or grief, it gets trapped in your spine and pelvis as stiffness. I use the Iyengar method to help you release these blocks and reclaim your strength.
This is how we clear emotional blockages. By correcting the spine's alignment, we build the internal, rock-solid strength that yoga provides. This is what gives you the power to stand up for yourself.
The opening of the chest is phenomenal for releasing emotions. I guide students to move beyond their physical resistance, using props like ropes to dig the dorsal spine in and open the heart, just as my Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar taught.
You have a right to evolve, even if your circumstances are difficult. Yoga develops the inner guts to take a stand for yourself. It is a profound process that I guarantee will build your inner strength over time.
Women do not need to be "empowered", they are already a powerful entity. My practice helps you open the chakras and constricted energy zones in your spine, allowing you to feel the power you already possess.
A woman is a bridge to higher consciousness. God chose the female body as a powerful equipment for creation. My classes help you tap into this innate power.
To care for others, you must first care for yourself. Here, I am helping a student find length and space in her torso, a key step in reconnecting with her inner strength.
This series of images explores the Anahata Chakra, or heart center. As women, we carry so much in our hearts. These poses and moments reflect the journey of opening the heart to feel, to heal, and to find the wisdom in our deepest emotions.

About Unlocking Emotional Blockages
We do not just stretch here. In this cluster, I focus on the dorsal spine and chest openers. When you use props like ropes to dig into the dorsal area, you are not just adjusting posture; you are physically forcing open the emotional channels that stay constricted due to daily stress. It is precise, it is uncomfortable, and it is exactly what your system needs to stop leaking energy.
Most people ignore the physical markers of their emotional state. A tight chest is not just bad posture; it is a defensive mechanism against a world that demands you to be constantly available. When I teach these sequences, I am looking for the physical resistance that mimics your life's internal friction.
We work with the Anahata Chakra (heart center) and pelvic alignment because that is where we hold the most trauma. Using chairs, belts, and wall ropes is not a luxury; it is a clinical necessity. These tools allow us to isolate the muscle groups that have been holding onto tension for years.
If you come to Yogakshema in Mandi House, do not expect a class where you simply move through poses. You will be held in a position, often with props, until the muscle releases the memory of the stress. You may feel frustrated or overwhelmed, and that is part of the process. My students often come in carrying the weight of their family, their jobs, and their unspoken grief. Through consistent, disciplined alignment, we move that stagnation out. Whether you join us online or visit the studio in Delhi, the goal remains the same: you should leave feeling lighter because you have physically offloaded the emotional burden you were carrying.
