Yoga for Every Stage of Womanhood
Puberty, pregnancy, and menopause are not just life phases; they are milestones that demand specific hormonal and physical support. My classes use the precision of the Iyengar method to help you navigate these transitions with alignment, strength, and calm.
I explain the three critical milestones in a woman's life. During puberty, yoga is essential for stabilizing a young girl's mind and hormonal system as she navigates immense physical and psychological changes.
My research and experience show that practicing yoga before, during, and after pregnancy leads to calmer, more intelligent children and a healthier mother. I urge all women to embrace this practice for a smooth pregnancy, easier delivery, and better postpartum recovery.
This student is practicing a supported standing pose during her pregnancy. My prenatal classes focus on keeping expecting mothers strong, healthy, and calm, preparing them for a smooth delivery and helping to prevent post-pregnancy blues.
This video highlights the benefits of prenatal yoga. We focus on poses that promote relaxation, reduce back pain, improve circulation, and prepare both the body and mind for childbirth.
On Mother's Day, the best gift you can give your mother is the tool of permanent healthcare in her own hands. I invite all women to celebrate their female energy with me.
About Yoga for Every Stage of Womanhood
Don't treat period pain, mood swings, or hormonal shifts as things you just have to endure. In my classes, we don't just stretch; we use specific Iyengar props like wooden bricks, belts, and bolsters to realign your pelvis and chest. This is a scientific, targeted approach designed to regulate your system, release physical blockages, and help you regain control over your own health.
Precision for the Female Body
Yoga is a science of alignment. When I work with women, I do not offer generic routines. Whether you are an adolescent dealing with the hormonal chaos of puberty, an expecting mother, or navigating the physical shifts of menopause, your body needs specific instructions, not vague flow.
The Three Milestones
- Puberty: This is a confused state for the mind and body. We use yoga to stabilize the hormonal system, address conditions like PCOS, and build a rock-solid mind that can handle teenage stress.
- Pregnancy & Post-Partum: My prenatal classes are not for light stretching. They are designed to keep you strong, agile, and calm, ensuring the seed you carry grows in a healthy environment. We continue this into the post-partum phase to help the body recover and prevent the 'heaviness' that often follows childbirth.
- Menopause: This is the time to build a reservoir of strength. We work on bone density, endocrine regulation, and emotional release through deep, supported poses.
Why Props Matter
People often see ropes, chairs, and bricks and think they are crutches. They are not. In my studio at Yogakshema, these tools allow us to achieve perfect alignment even when your body is fatigued or dealing with pain. If your spine is stiff or your pelvis is tight, a prop will hold you in the correct posture so the energy can flow, and the therapeutic benefit can actually reach your cells.
If you are looking for a place to truly change your physical reality, come ready to work. We do not skip steps, and we do not compromise on alignment.
