Iyengar Yoga: Precision, Alignment, and Healing
I teach Iyengar yoga not as a simple stretch, but as a precise science to realign your body and mind. This is where I share my core work—using props and strict alignment to build strength, release blockages, and reclaim your health.
This is the core of my work. We use precise alignment, often with props, to release deep-seated emotional blockages held in the body. Here, I am guiding a student to open her spine, which is essential for creating the internal strength needed to navigate life's challenges. This is not just exercise; it is a profound rewiring of your system.
This is Archana's story. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, she came to my class seeking to heal from depression. Her journey is a testament to the power of yoga to restore not just the body, but the spirit. It shows that with the right guidance and dedication, you can find courage and change your life's perspective.
Many women suffer from intense pain after surgeries like a C-section, often due to trapped gas. Instead of relying on painkillers, I teach specific, precise postures like this supported Prasarita Padottanasana. This pose creates space in the pelvic floor and abdomen, allowing the gas to release naturally and providing immediate relief.
I often get asked why PCOS and PCOD are so prevalent today. It is because the modern woman carries an immense burden, and her body pays the price. In my classes, I deconstruct the societal and physical pressures that lead to hormonal imbalance and teach you how to use yoga to manage your health through every phase of life.
Your body is a direct reflection of your mental and emotional state. Emotional blockages manifest as physical ailments like backaches, anxiety, or migraines. Yoga is the most powerful tool you have to work on these hidden layers, open your energy channels or chakras, and fundamentally change your health. If you are ready for a change, I am here to guide you.
In Iyengar yoga, props like chairs and blankets are not for comfort; they are scientific tools for alignment. This supported shoulder stand (Sarvangasana) variation allows the body to achieve the correct posture safely, calming the nervous system and improving circulation without straining the neck. This is how we make the practice accessible and therapeutic for every body type.
Khushboo, a chartered accountant, came to me with severe cervical pain that prevented her from even lifting her children. This is a common issue for many professionals. Through our therapeutic medical classes, she found complete relief, corrected her posture, and regained her energy. Her story shows that you do not have to live with chronic pain.
Western science and Indian yogic science view health very differently. A lean body is not always a healthy body. I explain here how true health is about the uninterrupted flow of life force, or Pran Shakti. A body with good energy flow will heal faster and have more vitality, regardless of its size.
About Featured
In my classes, we don't just 'do' yoga. We use props like wooden bricks, belts, and chairs as scientific tools to fix your alignment. When your body is misaligned, energy spills, and disease begins. My job is to correct that, whether you are dealing with cervical pain, post-surgical recovery, or simply the daily stress of juggling life.
Iyengar yoga is defined by precision. It is not about how flexible you are; it is about the intelligence of the pose. Many students come to me having done 'flow' yoga for years, only to realize their foundational alignment—the way their spine sits, the way their pelvis opens—is compromised. This misalignment is why pain persists.
My approach is clinical and systematic. When you look at the images here, you see students using ropes, chairs, and blankets. These are not crutches for comfort; they are instruments to place your body in a position that gravity would otherwise prevent. For instance, in therapeutic work for cervical issues or back pain, we use these props to decompress the spine without creating new tension.
We also address the 'hidden' aspects of health. Many physical ailments, like backaches or migraines, are manifestations of suppressed emotions. We work with chest-openers to release these blockages, allowing your Pran Shakti (life force) to flow without obstruction. Whether you are managing PCOS, recovering from a C-section, or seeking to build a rock-solid mind, we start by fixing the physical foundation.
This is not a 'one-size-fits-all' practice. Each session is a rigorous, guided experience. You will be monitored, corrected, and challenged to hold the pose correctly. If you are ready to move beyond the surface and commit to the hard work of realigning your system, I am here to guide that process.
