Snippets from my handstands and hip mobility workshop in Mumbai. It was a great day of breaking down complex movements and helping everyone build a better understanding of their own bodies.
This was the announcement for my first-ever workshop in Mumbai. I love getting the chance to travel and share my knowledge on handstands and mobility with new communities.
A "Burn & Brunch" event at the studio. We started with a humbling mobility workout and followed it up with a great meal. Community events like this are what make Troop special.
Pumped to hit a full Nordic curl! This is a tough bodyweight hamstring exercise, and achieving it felt better than any of my old deadlift PRs. It's a win for smart bodyweight training.
Some rest and recovery in a beautiful location. Training hard is important, but so is giving your body and mind the time to recharge.
A handstand press on parallettes during a training vacation. The beautiful surroundings make the hard work feel a little easier.
After focusing on skill work for two years, I incorporated some hypertrophy training. It was interesting to see how my bodyweight strength translated back to barbell lifts like deadlifts and squats.
About this collection
In these sessions, we do not just demonstrate moves, we fix them. Whether it is adjusting your hip alignment for a split or correcting your wrist pressure for a handstand, my approach is hands-on and granular. I focus on specific technical cues that you can immediately apply to your solo training back home.
Learning a complex movement like a freestanding handstand or unlocking deeper hip mobility is rarely about pushing harder. It is about understanding the mechanics. My workshops are structured to break down these movements into bite-sized, digestible parts. You will spend time on wrist preparation, shoulder stability, and the specific drills that helped me personally transition from a complete beginner to where I am today.
It is not just about the technical breakdown, though. Training in a group changes the dynamic. When we host events like our 'Burn and Brunch' sessions at Troop HQ, the focus shifts to shared effort. You see others struggling with the same imbalances, asking the same questions, and achieving the same small wins. It reminds us that progress is messy and non-linear.
These workshops are designed for those who want to move away from generic, high-volume routines. We prioritize quality over quantity. If you are in Mumbai or Bengaluru, check the upcoming schedule. We keep group sizes intentionally small so that I can provide individual attention, ensuring everyone gets proper tactile feedback. If you have specific movement restrictions or are recovering from an injury like tennis elbow, let me know beforehand. We can adapt the programming to ensure you get the most out of the session without risking further strain.
The Troop Fit
I am Anuj, and I built Troop because I wanted a space where training is about smarts, not just sweat. Whether we are breaking down a handstand in a workshop or grabbing a post-workout meal, the goal is always to move better and enjoy the process.
