Gentle Yoga & Mindful Movement Classes
Yoga isn't about making fancy shapes for social media. It's about showing up, breathing, and having a meeting with your own mind and body. If you want to move without judgment, you're in the right place.
This is a simple breathwork exercise I guide people through to calm the nervous system. It's a powerful tool you can use anytime, anywhere. On the retreat, we dive deeper into different pranayama techniques to manage stress and energy.
A handstand in a historic archway in Vietnam. For me, yoga isn't just on the mat. It's about finding strength, balance, and a new perspective wherever you are. It’s about the joy of movement.
This is the moment before a class begins, rolling out the mat with a smile. It’s a ritual, a signal to your mind and body that it's time to connect. Even when a friend joins, we negotiate the intensity, because every practice is personal.
A candid moment during practice. It's not about looking perfect. It’s about feeling the stretch, exploring the movement, and being present in your body. This is what a real, unposed yoga practice looks like.
Pausing between poses, just being. Yoga is as much about the stillness between the movements as it is about the asanas themselves. It’s a moment to check in with yourself.
A lighthearted moment during a session. I believe practice should bring you joy. If you're not smiling or feeling good, what's the point? We keep the environment fun and relaxed.
Another candid shot from a practice. My goal is to help you understand your own body, its strengths, and its limits, so you can move in a way that feels nourishing and supportive.
The same handstand, but in black and white. It highlights the form and the feeling of being upside down. Changing your physical perspective can often help shift your mental one too.
This video starts with a question: "Feeling exhausted?". The answer is often found in gentle, restorative poses like Balasana, or child's pose. It’s a safe space to surrender and let go.
About Gentle Yoga & Mindful Movement
I don't do 'Insta-perfect' poses, and I definitely don't count faster just to keep up with a trend. In my classes, I use my 'spy eyes' to watch your alignment—whether we’re doing Hatha or Vinyasa—so you actually understand how your body moves and how to protect it from injury.
Most people come to me because they’ve been 'shapes-chasing' in other classes and ended up with more aches instead of relief. I teach from my own experience with disc bulges and sciatica, so I know exactly why we need to focus on stability and breath before anything else.
What we actually do:
- Real Alignment: We don't just hold poses. We focus on the 'why' and 'how.' If your back hurts or your knees feel tight, we adapt the movement until it feels right for your body.
- Breathwork (Pranayama): This is the foundation. It’s not just sitting around; it’s a tool to actually calm your nervous system when work or life gets heavy.
- No-Judgment Zone: Whether you are a beginner or someone who has practiced for years, the only thing that matters is how you feel. I am here to cheer you on when you get it, but I’m also here to tell you to slow down if you’re rushing the process.
My classes are perfect for working pros, women looking for a safe space to move, or anyone who needs to untangle their thoughts. We keep the groups small—which helps me actually see you—so come ready to breathe, move, and keep it real.
Charu
I'm Charu. I teach because I had to learn the hard way—dealing with disc bulges and chronic pain, not just perfect poses. I’m here to help you build strength that actually lasts, using breathwork and movement that respects your body’s limits.
