A Glimpse into Our Yoga Family and Practice
This is a snapshot of our studio life—from the focus of our morning pranayama to the shared laughter in our partner yoga sessions. Come see the energy we build together.
Using ropes and blocks is not a shortcut; it is a path to a deeper, safer backbend. Here we explore Urdhva Dhanurasana with support, allowing the spine to open up with precision and without compression. This is a core part of my Iyengar-inspired teaching.
In our classes, we move with energy and then find complete stillness. You can see our yoga family flowing through warrior poses, a practice of strength and focus. As I always say, 'Ruko' (Hold), feel the pose, because 'Thoda time lagega' (It will take some time) to build that stability.
I believe in giving hands-on guidance to every student, no matter their age or level. Here, I am assisting with supported backbends using a chair, ensuring proper alignment and safety for a deeper release in the spine.
We build strength and confidence together by exploring challenging poses like Sirsasana (headstand) and Virabhadrasana III (Warrior III). This is where focus and balance come together, and you see what your body is truly capable of.
The practice is not just about the body; it is about the breath. We dedicate time in our classes to Pranayama, or breath control techniques, which calms the nervous system and prepares the mind for deep meditation.
Yoga is better together. In our partner yoga sessions, we build trust, support, and have a little fun. Here, we are assisting each other in headstands and exploring balancing poses, strengthening our practice and our community bond.
A chair can be one of the most effective yoga props. In our chair yoga sessions, we use it to deepen stretches, improve alignment in standing poses, and make yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of flexibility.
Whether you are with us in the Santacruz studio or joining online from home, you are part of our yoga family. We run hybrid classes to ensure everyone can be a part of the practice, staying connected and consistent.
A happy moment with my yoga family after a fulfilling session. This is what it is all about: growing, learning, and sharing our energy together. We celebrate our progress, big and small, on and off the mat.
It is a pleasure to welcome students from all over the world, like our friends from London and Warwick. Hearing how our wall yoga and rope work helped their stiff backs reminds me that the language of yoga is universal.
About Featured
You won't find performative yoga here; you will find people. Whether you are a beginner struggling to touch your toes or someone working on complex alignment, this is a space where we support each other. You will see us using ropes, blocks, and chairs in these photos, not to show off, but because I believe in making the practice work for your body, not the other way around.
Our studio in Santacruz West is not just a place to roll out a mat; it is a shared space where students from Mumbai and across the world come to connect. When I started Body Temple six years ago, I wanted to strip away the pressure of perfection. In these images, you see the reality of our classes—the genuine support during partner work, the intense focus during meditation, and the progress we make together.
We lean heavily into the Iyengar method. If you wonder why you see chairs, ropes, and wooden bricks in our gallery, it is because I believe these are tools for precision. They help us access postures safely, especially if you are working through an injury or simply finding your flexibility. I often tell my students, "Ruko (Hold), thoda time lagega (it will take some time)." This philosophy defines our approach. We do not rush through the asanas. We give the body time to open up, understand the alignment, and find stability.
From ladies-only therapeutic sessions to dynamic Vinyasa flows, the energy changes every hour, but the intent remains the same: to honour your body. Whether you are dealing with a stiff back or looking to deepen your practice, we are here to guide you. It is not about how the pose looks; it is about how you feel in it. You are welcome to join a trial session to experience this alignment-first approach yourself.

I am Abhishek Khurana, and I believe your body is your temple. I created this studio to be a second home where we focus on patience and precision over perfection. Join us—there is always room for one more in our yoga family.
