Our Welcoming Shala in Bengaluru
Step inside a space designed for stillness. Our shala in JP Nagar is a quiet sanctuary where we prioritize breath, rhythm, and honest practice over performance.
I welcome you to Ashtanga Yoga Sadhana. Our serene and spacious center is a tranquil escape from the chaos of modern life, where you can reconnect with your well-being and find harmony within.
The light within is what matters. Our shala sign glows as a reminder of the inner peace we cultivate here through silence, movement, and the gratitude we have for our practice and community.
A short video expressing gratitude for the practice of yoga, our community of practitioners, and the blessings that guide us. Our shala is a space where all of these elements come together.
The shala brightens when the little ones come. This moment, with a mother practicing while her child colors peacefully nearby, perfectly captures the welcoming and family-friendly spirit of our space.
A glimpse of the different practices offered at our shala. From kids yoga to Mysore-style asana for adults, we provide a path for everyone to build stamina, resilience, and inner peace.
We practice traditional yoga, asana, pranayama, and meditation. This video shows the flow of movement and the stillness of prayer that coexist in our shala. I invite you to join us and make yoga part of your life.
At our yoga shala, the practice is more than asana. It is a way to silence the mind and return to what is essential: not performance, but presence.
About Our Welcoming Shala
When you walk into our shala, you will notice the absence of mirrors and loud music. It is a naturally ventilated, quiet sanctuary in JP Nagar, designed specifically to help you turn your attention inward. We keep our batch sizes small, limiting them to 10 to 15 students, which allows for individual adjustments and ensures that your practice is guided by your own breath rather than the pace of the crowd.
A Space Built for Sadhana
Our shala is not a gym where you come to sweat and leave. It is a traditional learning environment where discipline meets compassion. Whether you are coming for the Primary Series of Ashtanga or just to find a moment of shanti (peace) through meditation, the environment is tailored to support a long-term, consistent practice.
Designed for Focus
Located in JP Nagar 7th Phase, our studio is intentionally simple. We rely on natural ventilation rather than air conditioning to keep the body’s internal temperature regulated naturally during practice. The flooring is cool and firm, providing the necessary grounding for asanas. We have removed distractions—no loud music, no mirrors—so you can turn your attention entirely inward to your own movement.
Inclusivity at Our Core
We believe that yoga belongs to everyone. That is why our space is designed to be accessible and non-judgmental. We offer specific sessions for neurodivergent children and women-only classes, ensuring that the community within these walls is diverse and supportive. You will find that our kula (community) is a place where you are recognized by your practice and your presence, not your ability to perform complex poses. Whether you are working on your ujjayi breath or learning to recite shlokas, you are walking a path of personal growth alongside others who are doing the same.
Nitesh Batra
I am Nitesh, and I have spent the better part of two decades learning from my guru, Sh. Sharath Jois. My shala is the home where I share that lineage with you, focusing on the slow, steady process of turning inward rather than chasing perfect poses.
