About this collection
Jal Neti and Sutra Neti can look intimidating if you have never tried them, but they are simple once you understand the technique. I guide you personally through these processes in our small-group sessions, ensuring you know exactly how to handle the neti pot and catheter safely. You are not just watching a demonstration; you are practicing under my direct supervision until you gain the confidence to do it yourself.
In our 300-hour advanced training, we emphasize that yoga is not just about flexibility; it is about antar ka badlav (inner change). Shatkarma, or yogic cleansing, is the foundation for this change. These are not parlor tricks or trendy detoxes; they are age-old methods to clear the respiratory system, improve focus, and prepare the body for deeper states of meditation.
What we cover in practice:
- Jal Neti: We use the neti pot for saline nasal irrigation, which helps clear the sinuses and improves breathing quality—essential for anyone practicing pranayama.
- Sutra Neti: For those ready to progress, we introduce the use of a soft rubber catheter to gently cleanse the nasal passage. This requires patience and precision, and I make sure you have both before you begin.
- Integration: These practices are woven into our broader curriculum alongside anatomy, philosophy, and alignment techniques using Iyengar wall ropes.
We provide the kits and the space for you to experiment and learn. Whether you are a teacher looking to expand your toolkit or a dedicated practitioner wanting to clean the system, these workshops provide the discipline you need. We keep the groups intimate so that every student receives the attention required to perform these techniques correctly and safely. If you are ready to get serious about your practice, this is where you start.
