About Workshop & Festival Announcements
When you register for a workshop, know that we dive deep into specific techniques. We do not just flow; we analyze the asana. We use chairs, ropes, and blocks extensively to make deep alignment possible for every body type. Be prepared to slow down, listen to your joints, and learn the purpose behind the prop.
My workshops are designed for those with a sincere desire to learn. Unlike general fitness classes, these intensives focus on the Iyengar system—a method passed down by my Guruji, B.K.S. Iyengar. We treat yoga as a science of the body and mind, requiring patience and sustained attention.
What to Expect at a Workshop
- Alignment Focused: We work in detail. Whether we are focusing on standing poses for stability or inversions for new perspectives, every adjustment is intentional.
- The Use of Props: You will see why I am known as 'The Chairmaster.' Props are not shortcuts; they are essential tools that allow you to explore postures safely and deeply, regardless of your flexibility or experience level.
- Personal Attention: Whether you join an intensive at our Jayanagar studio or a multi-day residential retreat at our Ramanagara Centre, I prioritize guiding each student. You will be corrected, adjusted, and encouraged to practice with awareness.
Choosing Your Session
We host two primary types of gatherings:
- City Workshops: Weekend intensives in Bangalore. These are ideal for residents who want to dedicate time to specific themes, such as spinal health, back bends, or deep stretches.
- Residential Retreats: Total immersion at our centre in Ramanagara. Surrounded by nature, we maintain a routine of daily Asana and Pranayama, complemented by Sattvik meals and philosophical discussions. This environment allows you to disconnect from daily stressors and truly ground your practice.
Some workshops are open to all, while others require a foundational understanding of the Iyengar method. Please read the specific requirements for each event before registering. Come with curiosity and a willingness to work, and we will find the right path for you. Ellarigu shubhavagali (May it be good for everyone).
