7-Day Residential Yoga Retreat (Shared Stay)
Core Practice
- Lead Teacher: Direct instruction by Sri H.S. Arun (Arunji) and senior assistants.
- Schedule: 7 days of intensive practice with morning Asana (~3 hours) and evening Pranayama (~1.5 hours).
- Prop Usage: Access to wall ropes, metal chairs, wooden bricks, and bolsters for alignment focus.
Accommodation & Venue
- Stay: Shared accommodation (Twin or Triple basis) at Prashant Yogashraya Ramanagara Centre (PYRC).
- Room Specs: Tiled flooring, wooden beds, ceiling fans (non-AC), and ensuite western bathrooms.
- Setting: Secluded nature center surrounded by greenery and mango orchards.
Meals & Board
- Diet: Two main meals per day (Sattvik Brunch and Dinner).
- Cuisine: Simple, traditional South Indian Vegetarian.
- Beverages: Morning herbal tea included.
- Extras: Evening cultural programs and philosophy lectures.

Private Accommodation
- Privacy: Guaranteed Single Occupancy room at PYRC for focused solitude.
- Features: Private ensuite bathroom, single bed setup, and personal storage space.
Practice & Board
- Instruction: Full access to all morning Asana and evening Pranayama sessions (~25-30 contact hours).
- Dining: Full board (Sattvik Brunch & Dinner) served in the communal dining hall.
- Access: Full use of retreat walking paths and nature zones.
Weekend Iyengar Intensive (Non-Residential)
Workshop Details
- Duration: Typically 3 days (Friday Evening, Saturday & Sunday).
- Contact Hours: Approximately 10 to 12 hours of direct instruction.
- Location: City Centre (Jayanagar, Bangalore).
Instruction Scope
- Themes: Specialized topics such as Backbends, Inversions, or Spinal Health.
- Method: Demonstration-heavy sessions using chairs and ropes for deep alignment beyond normal capacity.
Important Exclusions
- Board: Meals and accommodation are not included.
- Gear: Large props provided at venue, but participants must bring personal mats.
About Yoga Workshops & Retreats
With over 50 years breathing and living yoga, I share the practice as it was passed down to me by Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar. At Prashant Yogashraya, the heart of every workshop and retreat is simple - honest, direct teaching and a genuine wish to help you experience real calm.
What Makes My Approach Different
- Iyengar yoga intensive style - expect lots of detail and a steady pace, not just sweat or speed.
- Props are a big deal here - chairs, ropes, blocks, you name it. I’m known as 'The Chairmaster' for a reason. Props aren’t shortcuts; they’re a way to open up asanas for all bodies.
- Sessions are full of energy and a bit of wit; it’s serious work, but laughter helps everyone loosen up.
- Each student gets personal attention - I watch, correct, and guide so you don’t feel lost in the crowd.
Retreats & Workshops
- Nature yoga retreat India: Multi-day residentials outside Bangalore, total immersion, good food, small groups, and practice halls surrounded by greenery.
- Local & international workshops: Weekend yoga with props workshop, sometimes themed (like back care or deep stretch yoga weekend), sometimes general. Some are open to all, some for more experienced folks.
- Both in-person and occasional online options.
Who Joins?
Open to anyone with a sincere wish to learn. Some workshops need previous experience (usually at least a year), others welcome even total beginners. Just bring your curiosity and willingness.

I'm Arun, student of Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar. What I teach is all about his way, and the Iyengar tradition. Prashant Yogashraya is my home in Bangalore, built with help from many kind souls. Our Ramanagara centre is full of mango trees and fresh veggies - real earth, real connection. Whether you join me in Jayanagar or at a retreat, I just want to guide your practice.
