What Drives My Classes
I teach straight from the heart, following the wisdom passed down by my Guruji, Sri B.K.S. Iyengar. My shala (school) in Jayanagar is where I keep the tradition alive, but I also add my own flavour from years of practice and experimenting.
Iyengar Yoga - Why Alignment Matters
This style is all about precision and alignment. Each asana (pose) is like a puzzle, and I help you fit the pieces together so body, breath, and mind move as one. It’s not just exercise - it’s meditation through movement.
How I Teach
- Props are everywhere - chairs, belts, blocks, ropes. They’re not cheating, just smart ways to get deeper, safer, and learn the pose from the inside out. That’s what prop-based yoga classes are all about.
- I pay attention to every student, whether you’re totally new or already teaching. If you’re stiff or super flexible, I’ll guide you so the practice makes sense for you.
- Classes get intense sometimes, but I keep things light, with a bit of humour. You’ll work hard, but you won’t feel lost or ignored.

My Story
I'm Arun, student of Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar. What I teach is all about his way, and the Iyengar tradition. Prashant Yogashraya is my home in Bangalore, built with help from many kind souls. Our Ramanagara centre is full of mango trees and fresh veggies - real earth, real connection. Whether you join me in Jayanagar or at a retreat, I just want to guide your practice.
