Boxing Training & Technique Classes
Build sharp hands and better footwork at Art of Defense. From technical pad work to heavy bag drills, we teach the craft of boxing for fitness or the ring.
The daily grind of a boxer involves skipping for footwork, shadow boxing to sharpen technique, and countless rounds on the heavy bag to build power. This is what it takes to forge sharp hands and an unbreakable will.
Pad work is where technique meets application. Our coach guides a student through a series of punches, correcting form and timing in real time. This is essential for developing accurate and powerful boxing combinations.
Here, two of our members engage in a controlled sparring session, focusing on distance management and defensive tactics. Sparring is key to applying your boxing skills against a live partner in a safe environment.
A student practices his defense and counter punching during a partner drill. Notice the focus on keeping the hands up and chin down, fundamental principles we drill into every member.
A fighter works on his jab and cross with a coach holding focus mitts. This drill is crucial for developing speed, power, and the muscle memory needed for effective striking.
Two advanced members work on technical boxing drills, focusing on slipping punches and countering. This level of training hones reflexes and fight IQ, preparing you for more competitive scenarios.
Shadow boxing is where the fight is visualized. A student works on his movement and combinations alone, perfecting his technique in front of the mirror. This is a fundamental practice for any serious boxer.
A young fighter puts in rounds on the heavy bag, transitioning from hand wraps to gloves. This shows the progression in training, building a solid foundation before adding power.
Members partner up for pad work drills during a group class. This dynamic exercise builds stamina and timing while reinforcing the boxing combinations taught by our coaches.
Two students practice defensive drills, learning to block and parry incoming punches. Mastering defense is just as important as a strong offense in the art of boxing.
About Boxing: The Sweet Science
At Art of Defense, we don't do fancy gym fluff. We train in a raw, non-AC environment where the focus stays entirely on your stance, your guard, and your punch output. Whether you are grabbing a pair of shared community gloves for your first trial or refining your combinations with Coach Udit, expect a workout that actually translates to the mat.
Boxing is as much mental as it is physical. It starts with simple footwork—getting your weight balanced so you can explode into a cross or pivot out of danger. We spend time on the basics because sloppy mechanics get you hit. You will work on your jab-cross combinations, defensive slipping, and distance management until they become instinct.
Our sessions at Saket mix intense conditioning with tactical pad work. You aren't just punching for cardio; you are learning how to throw with intent. Coach Udit Negi and our team bring experience straight from the competitive scene, correcting your form in real-time so you stop wasting energy on lazy punches.
We keep the setup grounded. No air conditioning and no pretension. You get the mats, the heavy bags, and a group that pushes you. If you are new, we get your basics solid. If you are sparring, we sharpen your fight IQ. Our flexible 6-day schedule ensures you can fit this in, whether you are a student or working in the city. Just bring your hand wraps and show up.
