Master Boxing Drills & Technical Training
Boxing is a science, not a brawl. Here, we break down footwork, head movement, and combinations step-by-step to build your technical foundation.
I am teaching a student the fundamentals of the peek-a-boo style. We focus on proper hand placement and head movement to create a tight, effective defense.
Falling in love with the process is key. Here, I demonstrate shadow boxing with light dumbbells and a weighted vest to add resistance, improving punch speed and endurance.
Footwork is everything. Our students practice agility and coordination with cone drills, learning to move quickly and change direction while maintaining their boxing stance.
A student practices shadow boxing, focusing on form and movement. Even blurry, the motion shows the dedication to perfecting the craft, one punch at a time.
Close-range drills to build core strength and body punching technique. Students practice slipping and rolling while delivering powerful shots, simulating a real fight scenario.
A student works on his combinations with me on the pads. This one-on-one drill is crucial for improving accuracy, timing, and power.
A lesson on movement and footwork. I explain the importance of not just relying on a powerful right hand, but using footwork and head movement to create angles and opportunities.
Here are five resistance band exercises I use as a warm-up before any boxing workout. These drills activate the shoulder and back muscles, preparing the body for explosive movements.
A solo session showing the meditative side of training. From stretching and warming up to shadow boxing, every movement is deliberate and focused.
A detailed look at the importance of footwork drills. We use various exercises, including plate taps and stance switches, to develop the agility, balance, and positioning essential for controlling a fight.
About The Art of Boxing: Drills & Technique
We don't just throw punches; we teach you how to set them up. My training focuses on the scientific biomechanics behind every jab, cross, and hook, using the USSR method to perfect your footwork and defensive angles before you ever put on the heavy gloves.
The Science of the Strike
Many gyms focus only on cardio. At my academy, we focus on boxing as a craft. When you come here, you aren't just punching a bag. You are learning the geometry of a fight. We use the USSR boxing method, emphasizing rigid discipline and technical mastery over brute force. You will drill footwork on agility ladders, practice head movement in the mirror, and learn to cut angles that make you a harder target.
What You Will Learn
- Peek-a-boo Mastery: We practice the tight defense and head movement made famous by legends, keeping your hands high and your chin tucked.
- Footwork Fundamentals: You will spend time on cone drills, stance switches, and shadow boxing to ensure you are balanced and ready to move the moment you land a shot.
- Conditioning with Purpose: We use resistance bands, bodyweight circuits, and compound movements to build a boxer's physique. This isn't about lifting for show; it is about functional strength that transfers to the ring.
Why Technique Beats Strength
I see beginners gasping for air because they use too much energy on wild, uncoordinated swings. That is why I force you to slow down. We work on the mechanics of your punch first. Once your alignment is right, speed and power follow naturally. My sessions are intense and sweaty, but every movement has a reason. If you are looking for a place to hide, this isn't it. If you want to learn how to fight with intelligence and precision, you belong here. We train as a family, but you will be pushed as an individual.
