Mindful Hatha Yoga and Alignment in Gurugram
Yoga is not about mastering the perfect handstand, but mastering your mind. Join my Hatha and Yin sessions in Gurugram, where we focus on what your body can do, not what it cannot.
Witnessing a student's progress is one of the greatest joys of teaching. Here, a student is courageously working on her tripod headstand, building the core strength and confidence needed for inversions.
Using the wall is a safe and effective way to learn inversions like Sirsasana, or headstand. I guide beginners through these foundational steps to ensure they build their practice with proper alignment and without fear.
Every student's journey is unique. This practitioner is finding her balance and strength in a supported headstand, a key milestone in many yoga journeys that I am happy to guide.
This image shows a deep seated pose, Eka Pada Rajakapotasana, which is part of our classical Hatha yoga practice. These classes focus on mindful movement and holding postures to build stability and clarity.
About The Practice: Asana and Alignment
You will not find us forcing postures here. In my Hatha sessions, I use Manduka blocks and bolsters to support your body while you explore each asana. It is not about how deep you go, but how you breathe into the shape safely to build stability and clarity.
My practice is built on the foundation of 'yogashchittavRuttinirodhaH', or the restraint of mind-stuff. We do not just move the body; we quiet the mental noise.
The Practice
I blend two distinct styles to create a balanced routine:
- Classical Hatha: This is our base. We move slowly, focusing on alignment and building strength. It is the perfect place for beginners to learn the fundamentals without the pressure to be 'bendy'.
- Yin Yoga: We use this to slow down. By holding stretches longer, we target deep tissues and release tension you might not even realize you are carrying.
Why the Studio Setting Matters
I keep my batches small, capped at 8 to 12 students. This is a deliberate choice. It allows me to provide individual verbal cues and hands-on posture alignment corrections that you simply cannot get in a crowded gym class. You get space to breathe in an air-conditioned environment, with wooden floors and mirrors that help you check your own form.
Your Journey
I do not focus on comparisons. Whether you are attempting your first headstand with the support of a wall or deepening a seated posture like Eka Pada Rajakapotasana, the goal is the same: to find your own unique balance. Yoga here is a shared journey, and I am here to guide you through the process, safely and with intention.
