Step into stillness. Use the healing vibrations of traditional Tibetan singing bowls to quiet the mind and reset your nervous system.

Our sound meditation facilitator, Aarthi, prepares for a session. Each bowl is carefully selected and placed to create a layered, harmonious experience that guides participants into deep states of rest and self-healing.

What happens in a sound bath session? We begin by setting a *sankalpa* (an intention), then you simply lie down in *shavasana* and allow the layers of sound to wash over you. This video answers common questions about our sessions.

"Every frequency was hitting different parts of my body." Listen to a participant share her personal experience of a sound meditation session, describing the journey through different sensations to a state of deep, quiet awareness.

A glimpse into a live sound meditation session. Participants lie in a state of receptive rest as the practitioner moves around them, playing the bowls to create an immersive field of healing vibrations.

Have you heard the divine sound of a prayer bowl? Made from metals with high vibrational capacity, their sound is incredibly soothing to the nervous system. Here, one of our students explores the calming resonance of a bowl.

A moment of stillness before a sound meditation workshop begins. The practice is a journey inward, using sound as a vehicle to connect with the silence and intelligence that lies beyond rational thought.

The Ghanta, or ritual bell, used in our sound healing sessions. Its clear, high-frequency tone helps to clear the space and focus the mind, preparing participants for a deeper meditative experience.

Our monthly sound bath sessions are a perfect way to reset. Held on the first Sunday of every month, they offer a sanctuary of stillness and sound to help you unwind from the stresses of modern life.

The arrangement of bowls for a sound bath is an art in itself. The different sizes and metals produce a range of frequencies that work on various energy centers in the body, promoting balance and harmony.

About Sound Meditation & Healing

Unlike an asana class where you actively work your muscles, these sessions are about receptive rest. You lie down in shavasana, and the vibrations from Tibetan singing bowls work directly on the nervous system to shift you from a state of doing into being. If you have never done this before, know that your only task is to hold an intention, a sankalpa, and remain still while the sound does the heavy lifting.

Sound healing is an ancient practice rooted in the tradition of Nada Yoga, the yoga of sound and vibration. We believe that the universe is made of vibrations, and when we are in harmony with these frequencies, we feel healthier and more productive.

In our studio in JP Nagar, we host these sessions to help you move beyond rational thought and access a deeper state of intelligence. We use a variety of instruments including hand-beaten Tibetan prayer bowls, gongs, and bells. Each bowl is selected for its specific frequency, which we layer to create an immersive field of sound.

How a session works

We begin by setting a sankalpa, a personal intention for your practice. Then, you lie down in a comfortable position, often using bolsters and blankets to support your body so you can fully let go. The practitioner moves through the room, playing the bowls in a sequence designed to soothe the parasympathetic nervous system. Many participants find that this practice helps them work through deep-seated stress, overcome sleep difficulties, and clear mental fatigue.

We host these gatherings on the first Sunday of every month. It is a space for the community to come together, disconnect from the city buzz, and reset.

We are Medha and Sandeep. We built this shala because we believe yoga is about finding freedom and balance, not just performing poses. For us, these sound sessions are a vital part of the practice—a way to move past the chatter of the mind and find the stillness that lives underneath.
