About this collection
Unlike typical meditation, a sound bath is a passive experience. You simply lie down in Savasana while the resonant frequencies of Tibetan singing bowls and gongs wash over you. My sessions are specifically designed to help shift your brainwaves into a restorative state, making them ideal if you struggle with insomnia, chronic stress, or find it difficult to switch off your mind at the end of a long day.
What Happens in a Session?
You arrive, find a comfortable spot, and lie down on a mat. I use a variety of instruments, from metal Tibetan singing bowls and quartz crystal bowls to tingshas, chimes, and gongs. There is no right or wrong way to participate. Some find themselves drifting into a light sleep, while others experience a heightened state of awareness. The vibrations are designed to massage your nervous system, guiding you from an active, busy state into the deep rest of the parasympathetic nervous system.
Why Combine Sound with Yoga?
Many of my students come from a yoga background. While yoga postures (asanas) prepare the body physically, sound baths facilitate the mental release that follows. I often host these sessions as a transition, using gentle movement first to open the body, followed by the deep, immersive soundscapes that allow for true stillness.
Practical Details for Participants
Whether you visit my studio in New Tippasandra or attend a group retreat, all props like mats and bolsters are provided. You do not need prior experience, just an openness to listen. These sessions are perfect for anyone dealing with the fast-paced nature of city life in Bengaluru. We also focus on on-body healing in private sessions, where bowls are placed directly on the body to target specific areas of tension or pain.
