Restorative Yoga & Deep Relaxation in JP Nagar
Slow down and reset your nervous system. Join us for guided Yoga Nidra, candle-gazing, and supported restorative asana to find true stillness.
Our Yoga Nidra sessions offer a space for complete surrender. Participants are guided into a state of deep relaxation, allowing the body to rest and the subconscious mind to process and release stored tensions.
Modern life bombards our senses, leading to stress and tension. Yoga Nidra is a powerful practice of *pratyahara* (sense withdrawal) that allows you to experience true relaxation and inner stillness.
What is Yoga Nidra? It is a state of 'hypnagogic' consciousness where the mind is highly receptive. We use this state to plant a *sankalpa* (resolve) deep within, helping to release old habits and reprogram the mind for positive change.
Our Candle-light Yoga and *Trataka* (candle gazing) workshop is a unique experience. The soft light creates a serene atmosphere for gentle asana, while the practice of *trataka* builds focus and brings profound calmness to the mind.
Begin your journey with a well-regulated nervous system. Restorative yoga, using props like bolsters and blocks, allows the body to be fully supported, which signals the nervous system to switch into its 'rest and digest' mode for deep healing.
In this podcast clip, our co-founder Sandeep Manur discusses how Yoga Nidra is used as a powerful tool for managing psychosomatic disorders. The practice works on all levels: emotional, physical, physiological, and psychological.
About Restorative Yoga & Deep Relaxation
When you come in for a restorative session, you'll notice we don't just ask you to lie down and rest. We use bolsters, blocks, and straps to fully support your body weight, which sends a signal to your nervous system that it is safe to switch out of 'fight or flight' mode. It is less about stretching and more about total release, allowing you to settle into a state of 'Svastha' or inner balance.
Beyond Physical Postures
In our restorative classes, the goal is not to improve flexibility or build muscle. It is to cultivate Pratyahara—the withdrawal of the senses. Our modern lives demand constant outward attention, which leaves the nervous system perpetually heightened. By consciously turning our focus inward, we create the conditions for deep physiological and psychological repair.
What to Expect
- Yoga Nidra: Often called 'yogic sleep,' this is a powerful, passive practice. You lie comfortably while being guided through a systematic rotation of consciousness. It is exceptionally effective for releasing subconscious tensions and addressing psychosomatic stress.
- Trataka (Candle Gazing): This ancient practice uses a single candle flame to concentrate the mind, helping to clear mental clutter and build focus.
- Supported Asana: We utilize professional props to hold the body in positions of ease. By removing muscular effort, we invite the parasympathetic nervous system to take over, which is the key to deep healing.
Why This Matters
Whether you are dealing with chronic stress, burnout, or simply looking to recharge, these sessions offer a controlled, quiet environment. Our JP Nagar studio is designed with climate-controlled, semi-soundproof windows to ensure your practice remains undisturbed. We keep our groups intimate to ensure that each student feels supported, whether we are using Tibetan singing bowls for a sound bath or guiding you through a longer Nidra sequence.
If you have been feeling that your mind is constantly fluctuating, these sessions serve as a practical, reliable anchor.
