I don't practice for the camera. I practice to feel better, heal, and stay consistent. Here is the reality of my daily asana journey.

This is a moment from my own outdoor practice. My poses are not always perfect, and my flows are not always smooth, but my practice is always authentic. I share my journey to inspire others to be playful and discover more about themselves through yoga.

Here I am in Virabhadrasana III, or Warrior III. This pose challenges my balance and focus. Sharing these moments from my personal practice is about being seen for who I am and encouraging others to do the same.

A quiet moment of practice at home, surrounded by my plants. For me, yoga is not just an exercise but a way of life, something I integrate into my daily routine to find balance and connect with myself.

Practicing Hanumanasana, the splits, in this beautiful, ancient temple corridor was a humbling experience. It is a reminder that yoga can be practiced anywhere and that the journey is about connecting with your surroundings and your inner self.

A standing leg raise in a historic setting. Yoga helps us find focus and stability even when surrounded by distractions. It is a powerful tool for cultivating balance, both physically and mentally.

Finding a moment of playful balance. My personal practice is a space for exploration and joy. It is not about achieving a perfect pose but about the feeling of being present and alive in my body.

A repeat of the standing leg raise, showing the consistency required in practice. Each time you come to the mat, you learn something new about the pose and about yourself.

A deep seated stretch against a natural rock formation. This pose, Krounchasana or Heron Pose, is a powerful hamstring stretch that requires patience. My practice is a constant reminder to be patient with my body.

Carving out "me time" for asana practice is essential for self healing. This video shows a personal flow at home, a reminder that intentional self care can perform miracles for both the mind and soul.

Why do I practice yoga? This video captures my answer. It is because yoga releases morning stiffness, improves flexibility, relieves stress, and strengthens my core. It is my daily ritual for physical and mental wellbeing.

About My Personal Yoga Journey

You won’t find perfectly polished poses in these photos, just honest practice. Some days I am flexible, some days I am stiff, but I show up regardless because that is what yoga actually is. I do not practice to look a certain way. I practice to keep my joints healthy and my mind calm. If you are tired of quick-fix fitness fads and want to learn how to move in a way that actually heals your body, that is where we start.

Why I Share My Practice

Yoga is often marketed as a pursuit of the perfect pose. We see photos of people in deep splits or complex inversions, and we assume that is the goal. For me, that is far from the truth. My personal practice is my laboratory. It is where I deal with morning stiffness, work through my own postural habits, and sometimes, struggle to find balance. Sharing this, the good and the bad, is my way of showing that yoga is a lifelong process of discovery.

The Importance of 'Sahi Dhang' (Correct Technique)

When I work with students at my Sector 104 studio, my main focus is alignment. Many people come to me after years of doing Surya Namaskar incorrectly, leading to joint pain rather than relief. My goal is to teach you the sahi dhang—the right way—to move. Whether we are using blocks to support a Hatha pose or wall ropes to decompress the spine, these are not crutches. They are tools to help you feel the internal sensation of the asana.

Healing Over Intensity

My approach is therapeutic. If you are dealing with chronic issues like back pain, neck stiffness, or just general fatigue, you don't need a high-intensity workout. You need restorative movement. We use a mix of Hatha Yoga for stability, Vinyasa Flow for stamina, and Yin Yoga for deep healing. My classes are small—capped at 8 to 12 students—which allows me to personally correct your posture and ensure you are practicing safely.

Yoga is not a shortcut. It is a slow, patient journey to become lachila (flexible), furtila (agile), and taakatvar (strong). If you are ready to stop forcing your body and start understanding it, I am here to help.

I am Alpana. I have been teaching for over 12 years, but my own practice is still a work in progress—my flows are not always smooth and my poses are not always perfect. I focus on helping you feel your body from the inside, rather than chasing a picture-perfect image.
