The Journey of Practice: Real Yoga for Real Life
Yoga is not about the perfect pose; it is about showing up. Explore my unfiltered journey of practice, where messy flows, small wins, and patience lead the way.
The wound is the place where the light enters you. Practicing side-by-side with a friend, supporting each other through the challenges and breakthroughs on the mat.
A look at Urdhva Padmasana (Upward Lotus) in shoulder stand. This pose is part of the Ashtanga finishing sequence and requires both hip flexibility and core strength.
Day 1 of a yoga challenge with Salamba Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand). This pose is known as the queen of asanas for its many benefits for the entire body.
Who'd try this? A playful and challenging flow from a lying-down position into a headstand variation, just having fun on the mat after a morning session.
If you don't like yoga, you should try again. A playful video with a forearm stand, encouraging everyone to give the practice a chance to work its magic.
The courage it takes to leave what's not for you is the same courage that will help you find what is. A gentle evening flow from Wild Thing to Pigeon Pose.
Took four to five attempts to find this balance. A tricky kneeling balance pose that requires focus and a strong core. Tag me if you try it.
About this collection
Progress is rarely a straight line. Many students ask if they need to be flexible to start, but the truth is you just need to be willing to show up. My sessions focus on meeting your body where it is today—whether you are recovering from an injury, navigating post-natal changes, or simply looking for consistency—so we can develop a sustainable practice that fits your actual life.
Yoga is often presented as a series of flawless, impossible poses, but my classes at mytribe focus entirely on the process. Whether we are working through an energetic Ashtanga Vinyasa flow or a restorative Hatha session, the goal is always 'Santosh Param Sukham', or finding contentment in your own progress.
What to expect in my sessions:
- Real-time interaction: In my live small group batches, I keep my camera on and ask you to do the same. This allows me to provide personal form correction, keeping your practice safe and effective just like a studio environment.
- Built for real bodies: If you are a busy parent or someone stuck at a desk, we use home props like cushions and belts to make poses accessible. You do not need to be naturally flexible; we build that range of motion together, 1% at a time.
- Supportive flexibility: Life gets busy. I provide access to class recordings for 24-48 hours, so if you miss a live session, you can still keep your rhythm without the stress.
If you are looking for a space to be imperfect, tired, or just plain human while you work on your strength, you have found it. Let us build a practice that fits your life, not the other way around.
