Move beyond the basics with structured, safe techniques. I help you build the strength and stability required for deep backbends, inversions, and challenging balances.

Here I am in Ek Paad Koundinyasana in Rishikesh. This advanced arm balance requires and builds significant core and upper body strength, along with hip flexibility.

Providing hands-on assistance in Natarajasana (Lord of the Dance Pose). My role as a teacher is to help you find stability and depth in challenging balancing poses like this one.

A 55-year-old student working on her standing split with my support. This is a testament to the fact that advanced flexibility is achievable at any age with dedication.

A student moving through a sequence that includes Vajrasana and Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend), showing the dedication it takes to improve flexibility.

A student demonstrating Sirsasana (Headstand) and its variations. This inversion is known as the king of asanas for its benefits on circulation, focus, and reducing stress.

A demonstration of a therapeutic sequence for back pain, where I guide a student through gentle strengthening poses like Salabhasana (Locust Pose) to support the spine.

Assisting a student in a deep backbend using a chair for support. Using props like this allows for a safer and more effective way to increase spinal flexibility.

Using a yoga strap to help a student achieve a deeper backbend in a variation of Kapotasana (Pigeon Pose). Straps are excellent tools for working on flexibility safely.

A student using a yoga strap and a punching bag for support in a deep side stretch. This creative use of props helps to open the side body and hips.

A student practicing a thoracic opening exercise against a wall. This is an effective way to improve flexibility in the upper and middle back, which is key for deeper backbends.

About Deepen Your Practice: Advanced Asanas

You might see advanced inversions like Sirsasana or deep backbends in my gallery, but we never start there. In every session, I rely heavily on props—like straps, chairs, and wall support—to help you safely open your hips, shoulders, and spine. This isn't about rushing into a pose to look a certain way; it is about using these tools to build the structural stability your body needs before moving into challenging variations.
