Aerial Yoga: Finding Real Strength Beyond The Scale
I don't chase size zero or perfection. I chase strength, mobility, and the sanity that comes from a good session on the mat or in the air. This is how I train, and why I teach.
Every body is different, and every day is different. I stopped obsessing over the scale and started focusing on what matters: mindful movement, nourishing meals, and consistency. This is a look at my holistic approach, from weight training to aerials.
My mat and my hammock have held my doubts, my healing, and my prayers. I believe that true strength is found in stillness just as much as it is in movement. Healing doesn't always look quiet; sometimes it looks like hanging upside down.
It will take time, it will hurt, and it will require dedication. This is a look at my training on unique aerial apparatuses like the spiral and moon hoop. It’s a reminder that reaching your goals is worth the sacrifice, and respecting your teachers is key.
About My Philosophy: Strength from the Inside Out
When you book a session with me at my Model Town studio, don't expect a drill sergeant counting reps. We start by acknowledging how you feel today—whether that is tired, anxious, or ready to fly. My classes aren't just about nailing a drop on the aerial silks; they are about learning to trust your body, improving your grip strength, and realizing that sometimes, you have to hang upside down to see things clearly.
For me, fitness is a long-term conversation with your own body, not a quick fix for the mirror. Whether you are walking into my studio for an Ashtanga flow, a Reformer Pilates session, or your first aerial hammock class, the goal remains the same: building resilience that lasts.
Why the focus on Aerial?
Aerial fitness is the perfect mix of yoga, dance, and acrobatics. It forces you to engage your core, not just for aesthetics, but for basic safety when you are suspended in the air. Using professional-grade high-density nylon tricot fabrics, we work on anti-gravity movements that make deep stretching and backbends more accessible. It’s not just for the 'fit' crowd; I teach women in their 40s, beginners, and anyone curious enough to try.
What to expect in class
- Safety First: My studio is fully equipped with secure rigging from 15-20ft ceilings, safety-rated carabiners, and 4-6 inch crash mats. You are in safe hands.
- Small Batches: I cap sessions at 4-8 participants. This ensures I can provide hands-on adjustments, which are crucial for preventing injury during inversions.
- Mental Clarity: We talk about fear and confidence. The fabric is a prop, but the work is happening in your mind.
Consistency is the only secret. If you are struggling with your arms or finding your balance, remember that I started exactly where you are—shivering and unsure. We fall, but we don't fail. If you’re ready to stop comparing your body to a standard and start building your own, let’s get on the mat.
