Duo and Group Aerial Yoga in Model Town
Aerial fitness is way more fun when you have a partner in crime. In our Model Town studio, we move together, breathe together, and find our sukoon in the air.
This is a great example of a partner flow on a single hammock. It requires precise timing and trust as two bodies move as one, creating a beautiful display of connection and balance.
Here, we are embracing vulnerability in the air. This duo sequence involves inversions where we rely on each other for balance and support, creating a mirror image of strength and grace.
Together we rise. This synchronized flow shows how a partner can help you find balance and deepen your practice. We move together, breathe together, and celebrate each other's progress.
Defying gravity is always more fun with a friend. This video shows a simple but elegant partner sequence, demonstrating how we can use the hammocks to create synchronized shapes and movements side by side.
Floating through life with a partner. This sequence involves dynamic flips and inversions performed in unison, showcasing the fun and challenge of coordinating your movements with someone else in the air.
Here is another example of a synchronized handstand flow. Working alongside a partner helps with timing and motivation, as we push each other to find stability and strength in challenging poses.
This is a glimpse into a group class, where we move through a Vinyasa flow using the hammocks for support. The collective energy in the room is powerful, as everyone works together with passion and intention.
About Duo & Group Aerials: The Power of Connection
When you are doing a duo flow, it is not just about your own strength, it is about timing and trust. You are not just responsible for yourself—you are holding space for your partner. Whether it is a simple synchronized move or a weight-bearing drop, that connection changes the workout from a fitness routine into something closer to art.
Why We Do Duo Aerials
Aerial yoga is often seen as a solitary practice, but there is magic in the collective. When we work in pairs or groups here at Sweatnstretch, the energy in the room shifts. You stop looking at the mirror and start looking at the person beside you.
Working with a partner forces you to be present. If your timing is off, the flow breaks. This requires:
- Clear Communication: You learn to signal and respond without speaking, building deep non-verbal trust.
- Safe Spotting: In duo work, you are physically responsible for your partner's balance. This builds a protective, community-first mindset.
- Synchronized Movement: Moving as one requires rhythm and patience, which helps you let go of the need for 'perfect' technique and instead find 'connected' flow.
What To Expect In Class
We keep our group batches small—between 4 to 8 people—to ensure everyone gets individual attention on the rigging. You will not just be doing flips; you will be learning how to climb, wrap, and support each other through poses that might feel scary on your own.
We use professional-grade nylon tricot fabrics and secure structural hardpoints. Even if you are coming in as a beginner, we start with ground-based stretches before moving to the hammocks, so you can test your inversion comfort levels before going high up.
Whether you are looking to build strength, improve mobility, or just find a group of people who are as curious as you are, these sessions are about showing up for yourself and your community. We fall, we laugh, and we try again. That is the journey.
