Nature is our greatest teacher. Whether it is a sunrise hike near Bengaluru or a deeper retreat by the Ganga, these sessions help you pause and find your breath again.

Embodying the warrior mindset with Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose) by the Ganga river in Rishikesh. This pose strengthens the body and cultivates a mind of courage, strength, and determination.

A moment of quiet meditation by the sacred Ganga in Rishikesh. I practice Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) to concentrate the mind on the present moment and connect with the serene energy of the river.

Doing anything with attention turns it into a prayer. This video captures moments of mindful movement and meditation in nature, stretching the body to free the mind.

The choice is yours: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. Here I am in Hanumanasana (Monkey Pose) in a beautiful natural setting, a reminder that dedication to our practice brings freedom.

Practicing Bhujpidasana (Shoulder-Pressing Pose) against the backdrop of the snow-capped Himalayas. The raw beauty of nature inspires strength, balance, and a bit of playfulness.

Finding balance and focus with a challenging asana on the rocks by the river in Rishikesh. The natural, uneven surface adds an extra layer of awareness to the practice.

My sister and I practicing Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana (Extended Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose) together in Rishikesh. Practicing with a partner in nature deepens the connection to each other and our surroundings.

About this collection

The uneven surface of a rocky riverbank or a gentle hill slope forces your core to engage differently than it does on a studio mat. In my outdoor sessions, I guide you to find 'santosh'—that inner contentment—not by forcing a perfect pose, but by learning to balance your body with the rhythm of the wind and trees around you.

When we step out of the studio, the practice changes. There is no air conditioning, no mirrors, and no walls. Instead, we have the sounds of the forest or the flow of the river to anchor our focus. Many students tell me they feel less intimidated practicing outdoors because nature doesn't demand perfection.

Why Practice in Nature?

  • Grounding: Feeling the earth beneath your hands or feet provides a level of sensory feedback you cannot get indoors. It connects the practice to the elements.
  • Dynamic Challenge: Outdoor terrain requires constant, micro-adjustments in your balance, which strengthens stabilizer muscles that are often neglected in flat-floor classes.
  • Mental Clarity: Our retreats, ranging from half-day nature hikes near Bengaluru to residential immersions, are designed to pull you out of the 'city noise' and help you reset your nervous system.

What to Expect

We keep the groups intimate. Whether we are doing a Hatha flow on a mountain path or sitting for silent meditation at sunrise, my focus is on guiding you through the movement while giving you space to just be. We provide mats and props for studio sessions, but for our outdoor retreats, I encourage you to bring your own comfortable gear. Please note that for our outstation or outskirts retreats, carpooling is often the best way to travel, which we coordinate among participants to keep things simple and community-focused.

I am Sreya. I believe the most profound shifts happen when we step out of the studio and into the wild. My goal isn't to get you into a fancy pose, but to help you feel grounded and alive, whether we are breathing by a river or hiking through the foothills.
