Moving beyond the basics requires more than just flexibility. These advanced sessions at Spiritual Yoga Ashram focus on controlled strength, precise alignment, and the meditative focus needed for complex postures.

This posture, a variation of Visvamitrasana, is a testament to the body's potential for strength and openness. My advanced classes are designed to help you explore these limits safely and mindfully.

This is Garudasana, or Eagle Pose. The video explains its benefits for improving balance, strengthening the legs, and opening the upper back, all of which are crucial for more advanced postures.

A demonstration of Prasarita Padottanasana, the Wide-Legged Forward Bend. This pose stretches the hamstrings and back while strengthening the legs, preparing the body for deeper forward folds and inversions.

Purna Bhujangasana, the Full Cobra Pose, is a powerful heart-opener that requires significant spinal flexibility. I guide students through a series of preparatory poses to open the back safely for this asana.

This step-by-step tutorial shows how to safely enter a Headstand. I emphasize proper form and control, reminding students to practice with support until they build sufficient strength and confidence.

Our advanced students work on Eka Pada Bakasana, the One-Legged Crow Pose. This asana challenges balance and arm strength, and I provide cues to help them find their center of gravity.

Yoga can be a family activity. Here, a mother and her son practice handstands together in our studio, showing that age is no barrier to building strength and having fun with your practice.

A student demonstrates a variation of Chakrasana, or Wheel Pose, on her tiptoes. This advanced modification deepens the backbend and further challenges balance and leg strength.

This image shows a student in Kapotasana, or Pigeon Pose, a deep backbend that requires open shoulders and hip flexors. Our advanced classes include specific drills to work towards such postures.

Another angle of Kapotasana, highlighting the spinal articulation and engagement required. We focus on breathing through the intensity of such deep stretches to release tension effectively.

About Advanced Asana & Strength Building

If you are looking to master inversions like the Headstand or arm balances like Eka Pada Bakasana, please remember that consistency and safety come before ambition. In my sessions, we do not just jump into these poses. We spend weeks building the core stability and shoulder strength required to hold them safely. I personally guide these movements with hands-on adjustments to prevent injury and ensure your practice remains grounded in tradition rather than just aesthetics.
