Leading a special session for the 9th International Yoga Day. It was a wonderful experience to connect with so many people from the community and share the practice of yoga together.
A little montage celebrating the spirit of International Yoga Day. It’s a day to cherish health and happiness, and I love creating special sessions to mark the occasion with my community.
About Community & Public Events
I treat these large gatherings as a celebration of movement, not a strict gym class. Whether it is a session in the park or a community hall workshop, I mix in elements like Yoga Dance and facial relaxation routines to make sure every participant, from absolute beginners to regulars, leaves feeling lighter and more connected.
Bringing yoga to public and community spaces is one of my favorite things to do. When we gather as a group, the energy shifts, and individual practice becomes a shared journey. I focus on making these sessions accessible for everyone, which is why I often incorporate Fusion yoga elements that keep the energy high and the mood light.
We usually start with a gentle Vinyasa flow to open up the body, followed by some rhythmic Yoga Dance sequences that get everyone moving without feeling like a standard workout. I find that when people are having fun, they are more willing to try new postures, which is why I love including 10-minute facial yoga segments—they are quirky, relaxing, and always get a laugh from the group.
My approach to public events is simple:
- Inclusivity: No advanced asana requirements. I prioritize poses that people of all fitness levels can attempt safely.
- Community Connection: We often end with group chanting or guided meditation to ensure everyone leaves with a sense of collective calm.
- Engagement: I love synchronized poses that look great for group photos and foster that feeling of being 'in it together.'
Having successfully led events like the 9th International Yoga Day celebration, I have learned that the key to a great community session is adaptability. Whether you have a banquet hall, a local park, or a community center terrace, we can tailor the flow to fit the space and the people. If you are planning a gathering in Delhi NCR and want to add a healthy, joyful, and inclusive activity that everyone can participate in, let’s talk.
