Personalized Yoga Alignment and Hands-On Guidance
I believe yoga is an individual journey, but you do not have to walk it alone. In my sessions, I use hands-on guidance to help you find your unique alignment, ensuring you practice safely while deepening your understanding of each posture.
I love each of my students. When I teach, I give every ounce of my energy to their growth. Here, I am assisting a student in Vatayanasana, helping her find the correct alignment in the arms.
A different angle of the Vatayanasana assist, showing the connection and focus between teacher and student. This is a moment of shared effort and trust.
Observing students as they hold Garudasana (Eagle Pose) arms. This allows me to see where they need support and offer verbal cues to refine their posture.
Hard is necessary. Here, I am helping a student work through a challenging hip-opening posture, reminding them that discipline and consistency are what help us move through the "hard."
Assisting a student into Sirsasana (Headstand). My hands-on guidance ensures her shoulders are stable and her spine is aligned, building the strength and confidence needed for inversions.
I feel nervous sharing advanced poses because context is everything. Here, I am assisting a student in a deep hip opener, focusing not on the bind, but on her breath and energy.
Learning Sirsasana requires patience and proper technique. I am guiding this student through the foundational steps, ensuring her neck is safe and her base is strong.
Struggling with forward folds? I teach students to use core strength and hip rotation rather than just pulling on the hamstrings. Here, I am providing an adjustment to help lengthen the spine.
Assisting a student in a deep backbend. My support helps her to open her heart and thoracic spine safely, trusting her body to to release into the posture.
My self-paced group classes allow for effective, one-on-one engagement. Here, I am helping a student with her bind in a seated twist, tailoring the practice to her specific goals.
About Hands-On Guidance & Adjustments
Adjustments are not about forcing you deeper into a pose, but rather bridging the gap between what you think your body is doing and what it is actually experiencing. When I offer a correction—whether it is supporting your spine in a backbend or helping you engage your core in an inversion—it is to ensure you are moving from a place of strength and safety, not straining your joints to mimic a shape.
For many, yoga has become a performance-based activity where the goal is simply to achieve a 'perfect' pose. In my Shala in Panchsheel Park, I work to break that habit. True alignment is not about looking a certain way; it is about how you use your breath, your bandha (energy locks), and your intention to hold the posture.
I intentionally keep my batch sizes small, capping them at 8 to 12 students. This is a practical necessity for the way I teach. It allows me to observe your breath, notice where you are holding stress, and provide the specific tactile adjustment you need in that moment. Whether we are practicing a dynamic Vinyasa flow or holding a Yin posture to release deep tension, my hands-on guidance is meant to make the practice medicinal. I teach you how to use dual forces—the push and the pull—to stimulate the spine, calm your nervous system, and protect your lower back. If you are struggling with forward folds or feeling unstable in inversions like Sirsasana, my role is to give you the technique and the support so you can eventually find that balance on your own. My approach is rooted in the belief that if you can breathe, you can practice yoga, and my job is to make sure that practice serves your body’s unique needs, not the other way around.
