My Vīrya practice goes beyond simple movement. We focus on the strength and stability of the spine, using dynamic sequences to build the energy you need to handle daily life.

My students inspire me. Here, a practitioner moves through a dynamic back-bending flow, demonstrating the strength and vitality we cultivate in our 'Sharan Sadhana' practice.

The key to asana is the spine. A strong spine is crucial for mindfulness and a pain-free life. My strength-based practice, Vīrya, focuses on building this foundation for vitality and longevity.

Perfection in asana means physical relaxation with absolute control. This video shows students working on challenging binds and inversions, learning to conserve and channelize energy to still the mind.

The vibe of my Gurgaon lot is consistency and sheer discipline. Here, students use the wall to build shoulder strength and stability, a preparation for inversions and arm balances.

Students holding Sirsasana (Headstand) in the shala. This inversion builds upper body strength, improves circulation, and brings a sense of calm and focus to the mind.

Yoga is all about balance. Some of us are flexible but need strength. This video shows how we work on both, here with a focus on building power for backbends like Urdhva Dhanurasana (Wheel Pose).

Students holding Navasana (Boat Pose), a powerful core-strengthening posture. A strong core is the foundation for almost every other asana in yoga.

A class works on Ubhaya Padangusthasana (Both Big Toes Pose), a challenging balance that requires core strength, hamstring flexibility, and deep focus.

"Okay...5". Building strength in practice is non-negotiable. Here, students learn the correct alignment for Chaturanga Dandasana, a foundational pose for building upper body and core strength.

Students practicing Bakasana (Crow Pose), an arm balance that teaches focus, courage, and the interplay between strength and balance.

About Vīrya: Building Strength & Stability

In my Vīrya classes, we do not treat the mat like a gym. We focus on the spine and core engagement because a stable spine is the secret to a pain-free life and mental clarity. Whether we are working on arm balances or inversion alignment, I provide the manual, hands-on adjustments you need to ensure you are working with your body’s unique geometry, not forcing it into shapes that do not belong.
