Our Community Yoga Sessions: Practicing Together in Shakti
Yoga is a journey best shared. Whether in a local park or on the banks of the Ganga, our community practice is about creating a collective field of energy, breath, and movement.
From above, you see not just bodies, but a mandala of energy. Our community practicing in unison creates a powerful circle of shared intention and peace. This is the beauty of practicing together.

About Our Community in Practice
When we practice as a group, it is never just about physical exercise. We form a circle, a mandala of energy, where the collective effort of everyone breathing and moving together creates a space that feels much larger than any single person. Whether we are doing a simple spinal twist in a local park or holding a warrior pose during a retreat, you will find that the collective support makes even the hardest asanas feel accessible and grounded.
Why We Practice in a Circle
Yoga is often seen as a lonely pursuit, but we believe in the power of Sangha (community). In our group classes, you are not just on a mat; you are part of a living energy field. The practice changes when you hear the synchronized breath of fifty people beside you. It creates a rhythm that pushes you further than you might go when practicing alone, yet it provides a safety net that encourages you to try new poses without fear.
The Shakti Experience
Our community sessions move beyond basic instruction. We focus on:
- Unified Intention: We start with pranayama to align our energies. Whether you are in our Rohini studio or on a retreat in Rishikesh, the goal is to shift from the individual 'I' to the collective 'we'.
- Safe Exploration: We do not believe in 'no pain, no gain'. In these group sessions, we use props and modifications to ensure every body, regardless of age or fitness level, can participate safely.
- Myth-Inspired Flow: We often weave stories from Indian mythology into the movement. When you hold Virabhadrasana, you are not just strengthening your legs; you are embodying the spirit of the warrior.
Where We Practice
Our community is fluid. We hold regular sessions in Rohini parks for that connection to the elements, and our retreats take us to the heart of yoga in Rishikesh. Whether it is a sunrise session at the Kunjapuri temple or a quiet evening meditation by the river, we provide the space for you to leave your stress behind and simply be.
