Our Studio: A Creative Sanctuary for Pottery
Step into our light-filled space on Sarjapur Road, designed for calm, messy hands, and finding your own rhythm in clay.
The main workspace of our studio, with custom built tables and shelves waiting to be filled with your creations. We designed it with natural wood and warm tones to feel open and welcoming, with plenty of natural light for you to work by during the day.
This is our lounge area, a cozy corner where you can take a break, flip through a book from our library, or chat with fellow potters. We believe community is just as important as clay, and this is where many of our best conversations happen.
A view of our expansive studio floor before a class begins. The open layout provides flexibility for different workshops, events, and your own personal projects, ensuring you have the space you need to think and create freely.
Another perspective of our studio, showing the clean lines and thoughtful layout. Every detail, from the lighting to the polished floors, was chosen to create a peaceful and professional environment for our artists.
The studio is a collection of different zones. This view shows how the workspaces flow into each other, creating a sense of shared energy while still allowing for individual focus.
We love adding personal touches, like this art grid, to make the space feel like a gallery of inspiration. It’s a reminder of the diverse creativity that our community brings to the studio every day.
The sitting area is a quiet spot for reflection or sketching out new ideas. We've found that having a comfortable space away from the wheel is essential for the creative process.
About this collection
This isn't a sterile showroom, it is a working studio built for flow. We have designed the layout to separate the focused energy required for wheel throwing from the quieter, reflective zones where you can sketch or just watch the kiln. Whether you are coming in for a structured course or an open studio session, the space is set up to help you drop the noise of the city and get straight into your work.
A Space Built for Slow Living
When we built this studio on Sarjapur Road, our goal was simple: create a refuge. We wanted a place where the hectic pace of Bengaluru fades the moment you walk through the door. The studio is anchored by our communal wheel-throwing area, where the shared hum of wheels creates a sense of collective focus.
Technical Resources
We provide more than just a table and chair. The studio is equipped with:
- Wheel Stations: Ergonomically designed setups that encourage long hours of comfort.
- Glazing & Firing: A dedicated clean zone for glazing, complete with an on-site kiln, ensuring your pieces go from raw clay to finished ceramic under one roof.
- Storage: Personal shelves for students and residents to keep their work-in-progress safe between sessions.
More Than a Classroom
Beyond the technical aspects, this is a community hub. Our lounge area is designed for the conversations that happen after the clay is washed off—the stories shared over tea that make the creative process feel like a shared journey. We host artists from various disciplines, and our studio walls often feature work from the local community, keeping our environment fresh and inspiring.
Whether you are looking for a weekend escape from the corporate grind, a dedicated space to build a career in ceramics, or a spot to simply quiet your mind, the studio is ready for you.
The Janbo
The Janbo didn't start as a business plan, it started as an escape. We built this studio because we needed a place to breathe, and we wanted to offer that same quiet, creative refuge to anyone who needs to slow down for a while.
