Discover the Art of Handmade Pottery at Oriri Studio
Welcome to my quiet creative haven in North Bangalore, where we slow down and find calm through clay. Explore our pottery workshops, wheel-throwing courses, and the joyful process of crafting handmade ceramics.
There is something magical about watching a lump of clay transform on the wheel. This is the foundation of our beginner's wheel throwing course, where I guide you in shaping your very first cylinder, the starting point for bowls, mugs, and more.
Hand-building lets your imagination take the lead. Here, a student adds the final, delicate details to a pumpkin sculpture, showing how you can create intricate, personal pieces of art without the potter's wheel.
The smiles say it all. This is a collage from one of my 12-session beginner's wheel throwing courses, capturing the journey from learning the basics to proudly holding a finished, decorated piece. We keep classes small to ensure everyone gets personal guidance.
Pottery is a wonderful way for teams to connect. Here is a full house during a corporate workshop, where colleagues got to step away from their desks, get their hands dirty, and create something together in a relaxed, fun environment.
Our kids' camps are all about joyful exploration. This happy group is showing off their block printing creations, just one of the many activities we do, including clay sculpting, paper mache, and tie-dye.
I was so surprised and happy to see my studio featured by LBB Bangalore. It's moments like these that affirm my passion for sharing the craft of pottery and creating a space for art therapy in our bustling city.
Welcome to my quiet little haven in North Bangalore. The studio is designed to be a peaceful escape, surrounded by greenery, where you can listen to the birds and focus on the feeling of clay in your hands.
Sgraffito is a beautiful decorating technique where you carve through a layer of colored slip to reveal the clay body underneath. It's one of the many surface decoration methods we explore in our advanced workshops.
About Featured
When you walk into my studio in Nagashetty Halli, the first thing you notice is the silence, broken only by birdsong and the steady hum of the potter's wheel. Whether you are here for a one-off session or committing to a longer course, my goal is to guide you through the process at your own pace. I keep batches small—just 4 to 6 people—so you are not lost in a crowd, but instead get the personal attention needed to actually master the feel of the clay.
Your Journey with Clay
Pottery is often romanticized, but it is actually a practice of patience and repetition. In my studio, we do not rush to finish. We focus on the doing—the wedging, the centering, and the trimming. My 12-session wheel-throwing course is structured to build technical independence, moving you from a wobbly lump of clay to a centered cylinder that can become a mug or bowl you will actually use.
Finding Your Flow
If the wheel feels intimidating, I love guiding students through hand-building. Using techniques like pinch pots, slab building, and coiling, we can create sculptural pieces or functional tableware. It is a tactile way to reconnect with your hands.
The Studio Philosophy
Everything here happens in small groups. This is not a factory-style class where you are one of thirty; it is an intimate setting. By limiting batch sizes, I can help you fix your posture on the wheel or guide your carving during a sgraffito session.
Practical Details:
