Our Studio: A Creative Sanctuary

I wanted to create more than just a workshop; I wanted a home for creativity. Our studio on Sarjapura Road is a spacious, light filled haven designed to inspire calm and focus, with dedicated areas for wheel throwing, hand building, glazing, and relaxing.

Courses & Workshops

We offer structured courses for every level, from a one day crash course to our three month professional program. Our goal is to give you the technical skills and conceptual guidance to find your own voice in clay.

The Potter's Wheel: From Clay to Creation

The wheel is where many of us fall in love with pottery. This collection shows the mesmerizing process of wheel throwing, from centering the clay to pulling up the walls and shaping the final form. It’s a dance of pressure, water, and patience.

Hand-Building & Sculpture

Pottery isn't just about the wheel. Hand building allows for incredible freedom to create organic, sculptural forms. This is where you can explore techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab building to bring your most imaginative ideas to life.

The Final Touches: Glazing & Firing

This is where the transformation happens. Applying glaze and firing it in the kiln is a process of chemistry and magic, turning porous, fragile bisque ware into durable, vibrant, and food safe ceramics. We handle everything from glazing techniques to professional kiln services.

Our Community's Creations

The soul of our studio is our community. This gallery is a celebration of the work created by our students and members. From their first wobbly bowls to intricate sculptures, each piece is a story of learning, creativity, and personal expression.

The Janbo Story: Our Journey & Philosophy

The Janbo was born from a personal journey of burnout and healing. It’s built on a philosophy of slow living, finding peace in the creative process, and the therapeutic power of working with your hands. This is the story and the 'why' behind our studio.

Beyond the Studio: Retreats, Events & Services

Our passion for clay extends beyond daily classes. We offer creative travel retreats, rent our beautiful studio for private events and coworking, and provide essential services for fellow potters like kiln firing and clay recycling.
