Student Pottery Collections and Journeys
I am incredibly proud of the community we have built at GOAK. This is a look at the beautiful pieces created by my students and the inspiring journeys that started right here in our studio.

About Student Showcase & Journeys
When students join my immersive pottery courses, they are not just learning to center clay. They are building a foundation to eventually launch their own collections. Whether it is a beginner sculpting their first pinch pot or a student developing a full graduation series, the process involves real technical training—from structural integrity to kiln management—that makes their work ready for the real world.
I firmly believe that the term 'professional course' is often oversimplified. In my studio, it is about the journey. This year, I trained students who balanced their pottery practice alongside busy professional lives. We adapted, finding time for the messy, hands-on work that turns an idea into a functional piece.
Take Swathi, for example. She came to me in 2021 for commissions, then transitioned into a student. Now, she is managing her own projects while preparing to launch 'Madiké Studio Pottery'. Or Asmi, who started as a student, mastered the craft, and is now our studio apprentice and instructor for Clay Dates.
My approach is simple: I teach you the basics—pinch, coil, slab, and wheel work—and provide a space where you can fail, learn, and try again. We handle the technical side, like the slow drying, trimming, and the two-cycle kiln firing (bisque and glaze), ensuring your pieces are food-safe and durable. Whether you are here for a one-day Clay Date or a multi-session professional course, my goal is to guide you to a point where you feel confident creating, glazing, and eventually, sharing your own work.
