About Community & Workshops: Sharing Our Craft
The magic of our workshops isn't just in the printing; it's the rhythm of our studio. You'll spend the day in our garden workspace, guided by our master artisans who treat every block, fabric, and color mix with the same care they’ve practiced for decades. It is an immersive, tactile experience where you leave with your own hand-printed creation and a newfound appreciation for the slow art of textiles.
When you walk into our Sadashivnagar studio, you aren't just attending a class; you are entering a space that has been breathing textiles since 1977. Our workshops are designed to strip away the noise of modern city life in Bangalore and bring you back to the roots of the craft. We believe that textile production should be slow, intentional, and kind to the environment.
The Workshop Experience
We guide you through the complete journey of block printing. You get hands-on experience with our private archive of vintage wood blocks, some of which are over 70 years old. We teach you how to mix natural pigments—ground by hand right here—and demonstrate techniques like pattern dyeing and tie-dye. It is a day of fresh coffee, garden breezes, and meaningful conversation with the artisans who have built this legacy.
Our Community & Outreach
Sharing this craft is central to who we are. Beyond our public workshops, we are deeply committed to social inclusion. Since 2016, we have partnered with the Asha Foundation for Autism, working with specially-abled artisans to help them master vocational skills. We see our studio as an ecosystem where diverse abilities and backgrounds come together.
