There is a certain rhythm to block printing that I find very meditative. After a short break, I am enjoying getting back into the flow of it, carefully aligning the block to create a seamless pattern.

This video shows me practicing the art of block printing in a traditional studio in Rajasthan. The craft has a rich history, dating back centuries, and it was an honor to learn from artisans who have perfected it.

The hand-carved wooden blocks are the heart of this craft. This video shows an artisan in Rajasthan meticulously carving a new design, a skill that takes immense patience and precision.

Here, I am block printing a t-shirt using the traditional Bagru technique with natural dyes. Learning from artisans who have practiced this craft for generations was an invaluable experience.

This is my take on Dabu printing, a special mud-resist block printing technique from Bagru, Rajasthan. The process involves printing with a mud paste before dyeing, which creates a unique, earthy pattern.

Block printing isn't just for fabric! Here I'm experimenting with printing on different types of paper, including watercolor sheets, handmade recycled paper, and even old newspaper to create unique gift wrap.

Here I am learning the Dabu printing process, applying the mud-resist paste with a block before the fabric is dyed. It's a fascinating and complex technique that yields beautiful results.
