Creative Workshops for Young Explorers
Hands-on exploration where children lead the way through STEM, art, and movement in our leafy Jayanagar rooftop studio.
Fostering teamwork and creativity through STEM activities. Here, a group of young learners collaborates on a project, exploring scientific principles in a hands-on way.
Day 1 of our 'Sensory Submerge' workshop focused on sight. The children made beautiful nature globes and colorful sun banners, exploring textures and colors from the world around them.
Day 3 of 'Sensory Submerge' was all about sound. The children were fully engaged in making their own rainsticks and kazoos, learning about sound through hands-on creation.
The final day of our 'Sensory Submerge' workshop was a celebration of taste. We had a fun party where the children prepared refreshing drinks and snacks together.
We make learning fun with engaging activities like math games using colorful blocks and physical challenges like bouldering. This helps build both cognitive and motor skills.
About Creative Workshops for Young Explorers
In our 'Sensory Submerge' workshops, we don't start with a finished project in mind. If we are making rainsticks or sun banners, the goal is not just the object, but the time spent mixing natural dyes, testing sound vibrations, and getting messy. We prioritize this hands-on exploration because it allows children to guide the pace of their learning, rather than strictly following a pre-set agenda.
Our workshops at Svadhyaya are a departure from traditional, outcome-focused after-school classes. Based in our Jayanagar rooftop studio, we create an environment where children can engage with STEM concepts, sustainable art, and physical movement without the pressure of perfect results.
We believe that learning is a process, not a product. Whether it is a pottery session or a math game using colorful blocks, our facilitators focus on the act of discovery. We use recycled and natural materials—like making paper from pulp or natural dyes—to foster an early respect for sustainability and the environment.
Why choose this approach?
- Mixed-Age Learning: We find that children thrive when they interact with peers of different ages, learning empathy and collaboration naturally.
- Physical & Mental Engagement: From bouldering on our adjustable wall to quiet, meditative pottery, we balance high-energy movement with focused, calm tasks.
- Small Cohorts: To keep our environment safe and responsive, we limit groups to 4-8 children. This allows us to adapt activities to the specific energy and interests of the group present that day.
We encourage parents to view these workshops not as a series of classes to 'complete,' but as a space for children to build confidence, question the world, and develop a genuine love for the act of learning.
