About Kids' Workshops & Camps
Why We Do What We Do
Kids always surprise us with their questions. The idea for Svadhyaya actually came from a kid asking why adults get more freedom. That made us want to create a place where curiosity isn’t just allowed – it’s the whole point. Here, learning doesn’t have to be by the book. Sometimes we just go with the flow and see where a kid’s question takes us.
What Happens in Our Camps
Our workshops and camps change through the year - especially when school’s out. Whether it’s summer fun or a quick holiday break, you’ll see a mix of art, music, movement, and a big focus on sustainability. Some days it’s clay, fireless cooking, or old-school Indian games. Other days, it could be science experiments, making circuits, or even just messy art with natural colours. We do a lot of hands-on stuff – experiential learning for kids is really at the heart of it. Sensory play workshops, math games (yes, math can be fun), reading camps, or just letting kids build something wild – it’s always about exploring, not just ticking boxes.
How We Do It
- Small groups, lots of one-on-one time
- Mixed ages – everyone learns from each other
- We keep things earth-friendly: no chemicals, no plastics. We make our own colours from flowers and reuse stuff
- Our Jayanagar space has a rooftop, bouldering wall, and cozy corners for whatever the day brings
- We often invite other passionate educators to join in, so there’s always something fresh
This is a place for families who want learning to feel real, not forced. Let’s see where curiosity takes us.

My Story
I used to be a Chartered Accountant, crunching numbers and mentoring folks, until my little one asked me why she wasn’t allowed the same freedom as adults. That question hit me hard. Watching her explore, I realized we all need a space to learn together, not just follow rules. Svadhyaya grew out of that moment—here, adults and kids can ask, try, mess up, and figure things out, side by side.
My Work
Workshops & Classes for All Ages - We run Kalaripayattu classes for kids, bouldering, pottery, art, STEM workshops for families, and more.
Our Learning Philosophy - We put curiosity and exploration above technique or perfection. Learning is a joyful mess, not a race.
Grow Together, Side by Side - This space is for adults and kids to learn, connect, and support each other in Jayanagar, Bengaluru.
Teaching with Dialogue - If someone resists, we listen and adapt. It’s about guidance, not just giving answers.
