Meet the Facilitators at Svadhyaya
We are a group of pathfinders, mentors, and fellow learners. Get to know the people who bring our Jayanagar rooftop space to life.
I am Bhavana, the founder of Svadhyaya and an ICF Certified Coach. My work is to guide our community's growth while staying true to our values of mindful, collaborative learning.
This is the story of why Svadhyaya exists. It began with a simple question from my daughter that made me realize there were not enough spaces for adults and children to learn together.
Meet Praveen, our Mridangam facilitator. He brings a deep passion for classical rhythm and nurtures learners to find their own flow and express themselves through music.
Praveen shares his journey from being a banker to a full-time Mridangam and Ghatam percussion artist. His story is a powerful example of following your passion.
I believe in lifelong learning for myself as well. Completing this course in Music Therapy and Yoga for Chakra Balancing helps me bring a deeper, more holistic understanding to our work at Svadhyaya.
About The People of Svadhyaya
Learning here isn't just about the curriculum; it's about the people guiding you. Whether it is Bhavana’s coaching approach or Praveen’s rhythm-focused Mridangam sessions, our facilitators are here to adapt to your pace, not just stick to a rigid lesson plan.
Our Philosophy of Guidance
At Svadhyaya, we believe a teacher is simply a learner who has walked the path a little longer. Our team is built on the principle that true guidance happens through connection, not hierarchy. When you join a session, you are not just signing up for a class; you are entering a conversation with someone who is as invested in the process as you are.
Meet the Team
Bhavana Nagendra, Founder & ICF-Certified Coach Bhavana brings a coaching mindset to everything we do. After a decade in finance, she pivoted to create a space that prioritizes the 'why' over the 'what'. She ensures that every workshop—from art to movement—holds space for curiosity. Her work is about facilitating growth, ensuring that whether you are an adult or a child, you feel supported in your exploration.
Praveen Hariharan, Mridangam & Percussion Facilitator Praveen represents the exact kind of transition we encourage at Svadhyaya. A former banker who followed his passion for Carnatic music, he understands the dedication and courage it takes to pursue a creative life. His classes focus on the flow of the instrument, letting students find their own rhythm rather than just memorizing notes. He is here to help you express yourself through music.
Why We Connect
We are not a traditional coaching center pushing for exam results. We are a collective. Whether you are learning Kalaripayattu, exploring sustainable art, or finding your rhythm in music, you will find facilitators who listen, adapt, and share in the joy of the mess that is learning.
