Therapeutic Yoga for Chronic Health Issues

Stop treating yoga as just physical exercise. At Soul to Shiva, we use traditional methods and props to help manage conditions like diabetes, PCOD, and thyroid issues. Real healing begins with discipline.

राधे राधे। This video explains four powerful asanas to help manage diabetes: Halasana, Ardha Matsyendrasana, Paschimottanasana, and Dhanurasana. These poses are excellent for those with diabetes, high cholesterol, and obesity, but I also provide contraindications, such as for those with high BP.

Vajrasana is the only asana you can do right after a meal. As I explain in this video, it greatly improves digestion, strengthens the legs, relieves constipation, and improves blood circulation in the abdomen.

Halasana (Plow Pose) has seven major benefits, which I explain here. It keeps the spine flexible, aids digestion, strengthens the back, and can even help reduce obesity and improve the glow of your face.

This series of posts explains how yoga improves your mental health. It is a journey inward to calm the mind.

Benefit 1: Stress Reduction. By focusing on the present moment during your practice, you detach from daily stressors. Here, a student uses a yoga wheel to gently open the spine and release tension.

Benefit 2: Anxiety Relief. Yoga increases the production of GABA, a neurotransmitter that calms the nervous system. This supported version of Halasana is deeply restorative.

Benefit 3: Improved Mood. The combination of physical movement and deep breathing elevates your mood and increases feelings of well-being.

About this collection

We don't use props as shortcuts. When you walk into our studio, you will see iron chairs, wall ropes, and yoga wheels used specifically to assist with spinal traction and deep alignment. This ensures that even if you are suffering from a slip disc or severe stiffness, you can safely access the postures needed to stimulate healing in affected areas without the risk of injury.

Healing isn't about gentle movement; it is about proper alignment. At Soul to Shiva, I teach a therapeutic method designed to reverse lifestyle diseases. If you come to us for diabetes management, we incorporate specific abdominal compression drills. For PCOD or thyroid issues, we focus on pelvic openers and supported inversions that you cannot perform safely without the right guidance and equipment.

The Reality of Practice

We operate in a non-AC environment for a reason. You need to sweat. Detoxification is part of the process, and we focus on building genuine physical capacity before we get to the meditation and breathwork.

How We Work

  • Prop-Based Safety: Using wall ropes and iron chairs allows me to support your body weight, which is essential for students recovering from herniated discs or sciatica.
  • Condition-Specific Sequences: Whether you are dealing with chronic gut health issues or high cholesterol, we don't follow a generic flow. We customize the sequence based on your medical requirements.
  • The 3-Month Commitment: Results in chronic care don't happen overnight. My 3-month program is built for those who want to track their sugar levels or inch loss, moving away from 'motivation' and into pure consistency.

If you have high BP, please tell me before we start, as I will guide you away from high-intensity inversions like Halasana. This is not for people looking for an easy stretch. This is for people who are ready to do the work. If you are struggling with pain, stiffness, or hormonal imbalance, come and see how we align the body to heal itself.
