Modern South Indian Residential Architecture & Design
We blend traditional South Indian vernacular architecture with modern luxury. From climate-responsive farmhouses to eco-friendly urban homes, we create spaces that prioritize natural light, cross-ventilation, and your daily routine.
We design homes around light, air, and nature. This central courtyard, a modern interpretation of the traditional `mutram`, forms the green heart of this farmhouse, connecting all living spaces and creating a tranquil, private oasis for the family.
This expansive living area in one of our farmhouse projects showcases our approach to warm, luxurious interiors. We use a palette of rich textures, including natural wood ceilings and polished marble floors, to create a space that is both grand and inviting, with abundant natural light.
The play of light and shadow through this bespoke `jaali` screen is a signature element in our designs. It provides natural ventilation and passive cooling while casting intricate patterns, adding a layer of artistry and heritage to the modern interior.
The facade of the Eco Terre residence demonstrates our expertise in modern residential architecture and eco-friendly renovation. We combined wood cladding, large glass panels, and clean lines to create a visually striking exterior that respects its natural surroundings.
We integrate sustainable building techniques like this filler slab ceiling using terracotta pots. This method not only reduces the concrete load and improves thermal insulation, but also adds a unique, rustic aesthetic to the interior space.
Our designs extend to creating complete lifestyle experiences. This aerial view captures the leisure-focused heart of a farmhouse project, where the swimming pool is thoughtfully integrated within a courtyard, offering privacy and a resort-like feel.
We believe in creating sanctuary-like personal spaces. This bathroom blurs the line between indoors and outdoors, incorporating a live tree and natural stone to create a spa-like retreat that is connected to nature.
A grand entrance sets the tone for the entire home. For the Eco Terre project, we designed a powerful stone-clad entryway that frames a view through the house, creating a sense of arrival and hinting at the modern, open spaces within.
About Featured
Our design process begins with rigorous climate analysis—studying local sun and wind patterns to ensure natural cooling and light. Whether we are integrating a central mutram (courtyard) to facilitate cross-ventilation or designing a filler slab ceiling to reduce concrete load, every decision is calculated to improve the long-term livability and energy efficiency of your home.
Our Approach to Residential Architecture
We view architecture as a bridge between heritage and modernity. For over 20 years, our team has focused on creating spaces that are not only aesthetically striking but also functionally superior. We specialize in understanding how a family moves through a space, which informs our layouts.
Climate-Responsive Design
We don't believe in relying on artificial climate control. Our designs utilize passive cooling techniques to keep interiors comfortable. We incorporate features like:
- Central Courtyards (Mutrams): These serve as the lungs of the home, promoting natural airflow and acting as a private, green nucleus for family gatherings.
- Jaali Screens: Beyond their visual appeal, these lattice screens are engineered to filter light and facilitate steady airflow, significantly reducing heat gain.
- Filler Slabs: We use clay pot filler slabs to minimize concrete usage and provide natural thermal insulation, keeping rooms cooler in summer.
Heritage Renovation & Upcycling
Our work on projects like the Eco Terre residence demonstrates our commitment to material preservation. We prioritize structural assessment, identifying which elements—such as teak pillars, heritage tiles, or existing foundations—can be safely retained and integrated into a modern floor plan. This reduces waste and preserves the historical character of your property while upgrading systems like concealed electrical wiring and modern plumbing.
Technical Rigor
Every project includes comprehensive documentation, from structural drawings and foundation details to electrical and plumbing layouts. We also provide periodic site supervision to ensure that the execution matches our design specifications, guaranteeing that the final build is as durable as it is beautiful.
