About The 200-Hour Residential TTC
This is not a leisure retreat. Over these 28 days, you will follow a strict ashram schedule, waking at 5:30 AM and engaging in daily karma yoga alongside intensive study. We prioritize the traditional Sivananda lineage, which means you will eat sattvic meals, practice daily meditation, and live in community with your fellow students, fully immersing yourself in the yogic lifestyle rather than just learning poses.
The Authentic Ashram Experience
We believe that true learning happens when the environment supports the practice. Our residential TTC takes place at the Tapaswini Ashram, providing a space where you can disconnect from modern distractions and focus entirely on your sadhana.
What the Curriculum Covers
Our 200-hour program is designed for those who want to teach or simply deepen their personal practice. You will cover:
- Hatha Yoga: Systematic training in asanas, ensuring correct alignment and benefits.
- Pranayama & Meditation: Daily guided sessions to control the breath and steady the mind.
- Vedanta Philosophy: Understanding the theory behind the practice, including the four paths of yoga.
- Anatomy & Physiology: Practical knowledge required to teach safely and effectively.
- Teaching Methodology: How to structure a class, manage a group, and impart the teachings with confidence.
Your Daily Discipline
Success in this course requires commitment. Your day begins early and follows a structured flow of meditation, chanting, asana practice, and lectures. We include daily karma yoga—selfless service—which is a core tenet of our tradition. This helps integrate the teachings into your daily actions rather than keeping them confined to the mat.
Certification & Recognition
Upon completion, you receive a certification recognized by the Yoga Alliance (RYS 200), the Indian Yoga Association (IYA), and the Yoga Certification Board (YCB). Whether you intend to pursue yoga as a career or are seeking personal transformation, this certification carries the weight of a lineage that has taught thousands worldwide. You will leave with a manual and a foundational understanding of how to sustain a lifelong practice.
