I teach Kathak not just as a set of steps, but as a path to stillness. Whether you join me in Bengaluru studios or connect online, we focus on Jaipur Gharana technique, rhythmic precision, and the joy of storytelling through movement.

New admissions are now open for both weekend and weekday batches in Bengaluru. This is a perfect opportunity to step into the world of classical dance, one beat at a time.

Are you ready to dance? I am starting new online group classes for both beginners and intermediate students with at least two years of training. Join me to develop your technique, grace, and expressive depth from anywhere in the world.

My classes go beyond just steps; we explore Kathak as a complete experience of story, rhythm, and emotion. New in-person batches are starting in NR Colony and Jayanagar for anyone curious to explore Indian classical art.

If you have always wanted to learn classical dance, this is your sign. My new batches in NR Colony and Jayanagar are designed to be welcoming and joyful, with no pressure, just pure dance.

A glimpse of the energy and focus in one of my group classes. Registrations are now open for new batches, and I welcome everyone to join our growing community of dancers.

The sound of ghungroos and the collective energy of a class is truly special. We are starting new batches where you can discover the elegance and depth of Kathak.

I believe in teaching with personal attention, as seen here guiding students through movements. My classes are a space for learning the nuances of this classical dance form together.

In Kathak, every spin tells a tale and every beat is a pulse. I provide comprehensive Kathak training that focuses on both the technical discipline and the freedom of expression within the swirls.

A look at the foundational footwork that every student begins with. New batches are starting in Indiranagar and Jayanagar for anyone ready to learn the magic of Kathak from the ground up.

We are often told to dance like nobody is watching, but I believe Indian classical dancers perform as if the divine is the only audience. This sense of devotion is at the heart of what I teach.

About Join My Kathak Classes

In my classes, we bridge the gap between ancient theory and physical practice. Whether you are in Bengaluru or joining virtually, you won't just learn choreography—we study the Shastra behind every movement. We cover Jaipur Gharana technique, complex rhythm patterns (Taal), and the expressive art of Abhinaya, ensuring you understand the 'why' behind the 'how' so you can eventually find your own flow.

My Approach to Teaching

Kathak is a moving meditation. In my sessions, I emphasize that the art form is as much about the intellect as it is about the body. We start with the basics—proper posture, alignment, and the foundational footwork that gives you a solid base. As you progress, we delve into the mathematics of rhythm, exploring how Taal works and how to integrate Padhant (vocal percussion) into your practice.

What You Can Expect

  • Structured Learning: We follow the Jaipur Gharana curriculum, focusing on both Nritta (pure dance) and Abhinaya (expression).
  • Theory Integration: I believe a dancer must understand the history and philosophy of what they are performing. We often discuss the meaning behind the compositions, connecting them to stories from our epics.
  • Adaptable Formats:
    • In-Person (Bengaluru): Currently hosting sessions at Yuvaka Sangha (Jayanagar), Yours Truly Theatre (Indiranagar), and other locations. These sessions offer the energy of a group environment and direct feedback.
    • Online Global: My virtual batches are designed to work in home spaces. I provide clear visibility of footwork and mudras through high-definition streaming, and I offer recordings so you can revisit the material at your own pace.

Who This Is For

Whether you are an absolute beginner or someone returning to dance after years away, there is a space for you. I welcome those who are looking for discipline, those seeking a creative outlet, and anyone who wants to connect with Indian classical heritage in a grounded, respectful way. The goal is not perfection, but consistent, soulful practice.

Think about it—are you ready to start your journey?
