About Classical Indian Performances & Productions
What Drives My Art
Art for me is about searching for that Rasa - the feeling that hits when you get lost in a story or a song. Everything I do, whether it’s dance, music, or storytelling, is about finding and sharing that moment of joy (Santosha) and deep satisfaction (Trupti).
How I Perform
- I love mixing old stories with the classical arts. Most of my work is in Kannada, but I always add Sanskrit shlokas and explain in English, so no one feels left out.
- My Harikatha storytelling sessions are a mix of mythological stories, Carnatic music, and Kathak expressions. I don’t just talk at people - I chat, joke, and try to connect the old wisdom to real life now.
- Kathak isn’t just dance for me, it’s meditation. Sometimes it’s just me on stage, sometimes it’s a group. The vibe is always about rhythm, grace, and a bit of that old-school magic.
- When it comes to big productions, like our take on the Mahabharat, I go all out. Grand sets, real costumes, and a huge cast to bring those epics alive. It’s theatre, but with soul.
My Philosophy
I don’t think life is about copying legends. I try to see and walk the way Krishna did (Krishna nadedante, Krishna nodidante), learning from his life rather than just following steps. If you feel that Rasa with me, we both win.

My Story
Namaste, I’m Sharat Prabhath. Art runs in my veins—my family’s been living it for centuries. My dad taught me more than just dance and music; he gave me bhakti, real devotion. I’ve had some wild, goosebump moments, like narrating Harikatha in Melkote when the story and real life just collided. Now, with my Ankita name ‘Rasikapriya Sri Krishna Vittala,’ I’m stepping deeper into composing as a Haridasa. I just hope I live up to this blessing.
My Work
What I Do - I perform Harikatha, teach Kathak dance (online/offline), offer Karnatic vocal classes, compose and choreograph for stage.
Harikatha for Today - I share stories from our epics, making them click for modern folks—like finding hope in tough times.
Multimedia Dance Productions - With my brother, we mix tradition and tech—think 3D visuals and epic stories, all on stage.
Kathak & Thematic Music Composition - Dance and music tell the story. I play with taals and ragas to bring out the real rasa, the bliss.
